The Fayette Parks and Recreation Community Yard Sale

This week end October 10, 2009 there will be a garage sale in Fayetteville Georgia at the Department of Parks and Recreation on Redwine Road. There will be over 50 venders at the yard sale. There is a wide variety of items sold. There will be collector plates, new and used clothing, video games, television sets, jewelry, books, electronics, plants and almost any other item you can name. If you are looking for items to purchase as gifts for Christmas, Halloween items, or items for any other occasion you should really come to this sale. There are several groups who raise money for charities selling items.

The first time I heard of the Fayette Community Yard Sale I was working with a group of teenagers raising money for cancer by participating in Relay for Life. I went to the Department of Parks and Recreation and bought a parking space to set up a garage sale so that the students could sell their personal belongings to raise money for cancer research. The both was $35 for two parking spaces. The sale was to be held from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The children sold games, clothing, handbags and other items. They raised about $100 for Relay for Life. They had fun doing this task and was really proud to be the parent sponsor for the event.
