Well folks, its official. I went one and done in the playoffs. After manageing to pull off a great 9-4 season, I got a first-round bye. Only one game away from Fantasy Football gold, the Super Bowl, I got embarrassed at the hands of Manning and Harrison. Posted December 19, 2006 |
Fantasy Football tips
- First of all, you should always pick a Running Back in the first round. That is the postion that will score you the most points, so make sure to get a good one.
- If Peyton Manning or Tom Brady is still avalible in the second round, go ahead and grab him. Both will score you a lot of points as well. If neither are around, take another RB
- The Third and Fourth round should be when you pick up a couple of recievers. Steve Smith and Chad Johnson will most likely be long gone by then, but you should still be able to pick up someone like Hines Ward or Plaxico Burress.
- Make sure you pay attention to the bye weeks of the players you pick. If all of your starters havethe same bye week, you may get stuck with a time full of back ups that week.
- Make sure not to pick players based on who you like. You may be a fan of someone, but that doesn't not guarretee he will be good.
- Picking a bunch of players from your favorite team will hurt you in more ways then one. The chance of an entire team putting up great numbers every week, is slim to none. Also, when that teams Bye comes around, you will be in serious trouble.
- Finally, while kickers and Defences dont matter to much, and should be picked in the later rounds, you can't just forget about them. Those 4 or 5 fantasy points you kicker gives you may just make the difference between a win and a lose.
