Fibromyalgia and Diet: The Basics
Basic Rules to Improve Your Fibromyalgia Symptom Checklist

The three basic building blocks of the human diet are known as macronutrients and include Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats. Contrary to popular belief, all three of these are essential to good health, but there are some problems with the way our modern food processors bring them to our dinner plates.
Carbohydrates
The basic rule for carbohydrates is this: Avoid refined carbs, which have been heavily processed and transformed from their natural state. Carbohydrates are generally found in fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. In their natural state, these plant foods provide an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Refining them into things like flour and sugar removes a lot of the original nutritional content, leading to rapid absorption in the bloodstream and playing havoc with insulin levels.
Proteins
Protein should make up between 20% and 40% of your daily calorie intake. Good quality protein can be found in animal or vegetable food sources, but make sure you avoid the high levels of saturated fat in red meat. Your best bet is to consume a lot of fresh fish, which is extremely rich in protein and also provides necessary omega 3 fats. This is a very important factor in fibromyalgia and diet, but the most often over looked macronutrient is....
Fats
Fats get a bad rap these days, but they are really misunderstood. It's not that fats are unhealthy, it's the ratio of unhealthy versus healthy fats that have become a problem in modern society. What you want to be focusing on when trying to target your fibromyalgia symptom checklist is omega-3 fatty acids which are important building blocks for brain matter, may have anti-inflammatory properties, and improve your cholesterol profile.
Natural Remedies to Manage Your Fibromyalgia Symptom Checklist
