ISCET Certifications
Associate Level Electronics CET
Open to anyone interested in electronics, including a technician or student. This exam is the basic electronics portion of the full-credit CET exam, and requires a score of 75% or better to pass. This multiple choice test covers basic electronics, math, DC and AC circuits, transistors and troubleshooting. Upon passing the test an associate CET will receive a wall certificate valid for four years and become eligible to join ISCET as a non-voting member.
Multimedia Systems Technician Journeyman Level (MST)
To become a fully certified MST technician, one must pass the MST Certification examination. This is a "stand alone" Journeyman-level offering ... a "hands on" type of certification. The Study Guide for the course is a graphical presentation of all three sections of the material - soft skills, electronics used, and technical material concerning the installation and proper connection of the accessory equipment usually found in the flat screen environment. There are no "prerequisites" for taking the MST exam. The learning material is offered in several types:
* Online Study - Accessed from the ISCET Website, as Online Learning, allows a 150-day study window 24/7.
* On disk - Contains the complete study material to run from disk or load to your hard drive.
* Printed - Over 180 pages crammed full of information for the installer of flat screen and home theaters.
* As a "Virtual Classroom" with live instructor piped to your location through the Internet using a combination of video/audio to provide a seamless classroom environment. Class consists of minimum of 10 students at one time. None given until 10 students are signed up for same course. This course not only covers the information necessary to pass the certification examination, but is up-to-the-minute with installation practices and suggestions on how to solve the difficult situations encountered in this type of installation.
