Visualize Yourself Finding Inspiration

I was browsing through a bookstore in Tampa's airport when I came across a small paperback book called "You Can Do It" by John Mason. I picked it up for about $5 and started to read it as I waited to board my flight back to St. Louis.

Glancing through the contents of this little book, I saw right away that it was full of inspirational gold nuggets in bite size pieces, 72 of them as a matter of fact.

For example, chapter 29 states "Don't spend your life standing at the complaint counter" it goes on to say... The more you complain, the less you obtain. The person who is always finding fault seldom finds anything else... Children are born optimists but the world slowly tries to educate them out of their delusion.

I'm not one who can easily pick up a book and read it all way through. Maybe I have an attention deficit disorder. I don't know I've never been diagnosed. However, I did read this book in 2 ½ hours. It made me think about life from a positive perspective, I smiled, even laughed out loud which drew the attention of other passengers aboard the flight.

One of my favorite chapters was 35, "Know Your Limits, Then Ignore Them." The author talks about life being too short to think small. Everything is possible, never use the word "never." Charles Schwaab said, "When a man puts a limit on what he will do, he has put a limit on what he can do." J. A. Holmes advised, "Never tell a young person that something can't be done. God may have been waiting for centuries for somebody ignorant enough of the impossible to do that thing."

If you devalue your dreams, rest assured that the world won't raise the price. You'll find that great leaders are rarely realistic by other people's standards.

I've given you a couple of short excerpts from this book, which may or may not do it justice. It was and still is an inspiration to me. I keep a copy on my desk at home and read through it once in a while when I need inspiration.

Everybody at one time or another finds themselves in a rut, perhaps you're in one now. People usually find themselves in a rut after experiencing negative circumstances (things just aren't going your way), which brings about negative thoughts. The best way to get out of this rut is to learn the "Law of Attraction".

I'm not just talking about attracting the opposite sex. The Law of Attraction relates to many different areas of one's life such as finance, emotions, self worth, and relationships.

Let me ask you this. Do you count your blessings or do you think your blessings don't count.

The law of attraction is a concept that many people are becoming familiar with but the only problem is how to actually apply it to your life.

Try using this technique. When you first wake up in the morning, before you have any random thoughts, count your blessings. Think of several positive or encouraging elements in your life. Thank the Lord for the blessings you're going to receive.

When you turn in that night for sleep, give your Father in heaven thanks. Think of the things that you enjoyed during the day. Think of your successes.

Folks must understand... wherever they are in their life today is a result of their past thoughts. Your thoughts determine your actions. To make changes in your life requires "change" in your thinking.

The law of attraction is constantly working whether you want it to or not. For instance if you are constantly thinking negative thoughts, the world will bring negative results. On the other hand, when you have positive or good thoughts then you can attract positive results into your life.

I have studied all of the main religions and can only come to one conclusion. There is only one that offers a definite answer and that is Christianity. Many would disagree with that statement and for good reason. It would appear that Christianity is very disjointed with all the hundreds of different denominations and none agreeing with one another.

The reason for this is very simple. They have a form of Christianity founded upon human principles which do not line up with the Truth. Each holds to a part of the truth and have then added rules and regulations according to their denominational stand. But true Christianity is not rules, regulations, rites and rituals controlled by man. It is a relationship built on love and trust between an almighty God and mankind.

Eternal destiny, many people do not believe what is recorded in the Bible. This again comes from mans various interpretations of the Bible trying to make it justify his belief system. Thus all the denominations, disagreements, confusion etc. None of this negates the validity of the Bible as Gods word to us. All through the years people have been trying to discredit Gods word but it has stood the test of time and its integrity still holds true.

Written by many authors over many years yet all their writings blend into a beautiful love story. The infallible word of a loving God. A story of the unconditional, sacrificial love of God towards His creation.

My friend are you prepared to lay aside all of your prejudices, philosophies and pre-conceived ideas? Remember it is your eternal destiny we are talking about.

Are you prepared to go through life being deceived or are you going to exchange the lie for the truth? It is your choice. Should you choose Jesus Christ then you have also exchanged death for life. With Him there is eternal life in which there is no longer any fear of death, for you will be with Him for all eternity. Each day can be lived to its fullest with no anxiety, fear or hopelessness.

Jesus said,I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?

Should you choose Jesus you are in for the most exciting journey of your life. I made the choice at age 35. Today at age 63 I can say that I have never looked back I have a hope and an eternal future, and his name is Jesus.

Should you decide that it is just too much for you to believe then you have sealed your own fate for now. I say for now because God is patient and is waiting for you to have a change of heart. He does not want anyone to be left out of sharing in His wonderful promises. He has not written you off, because He loves you.

I am not part of any denomination. I am simply proclaiming the truth about a loving God, creator of the universe, and His plan for your life. It does not matter what you believe in now or your station in life and not even the lifestyle you are in at present. Forgiveness and acceptance are yours. God has no favorites.

Jesus reigns over all the earth. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Know that in your darkest hour you can always call out to Him. JESUS LOVES YOU.

When you have been wronged, a poor memory is your response but never carry a grudge.

Forgive your enemies... nothing annoys them more. There is no revenge so sweet as forgiveness. The only people you should try to get even with are those who have helped you.

One guaranteed method for limiting your success is unforgiveness. Bitterness, revenge and hate are luxuries you can not afford. When a person can not find it in themselves to forgive others, they are usually people who just think of themself. They are often a me first type of person. If you are only looking out for yourself... look out!

Folks need loving most when they deserve it least. Unforgiveness causes wounds, while forgiveness will heal a wound. When we think about offenses trouble grows, on the other hand when we forgive trouble goes.

Never make an excuse when faced with the need to forgive and forget. You might say "But you don't know what that person did!" This is true, but it's more important to know what unforgiveness will do to you.

Unforgiveness will eat you up inside, it leads to great bitterness which is a deadly misuse of the creative flow given from above. When you ponder a negative situation or plot to get revenge, this uses up a great deal of brain power and energy for a purpose that is completely unproductive. A waste of time and energy.

People who burn bridges will become alone and isolated. They will have to deal with enemies the rest of their lives. Build bridges, don't burn them.

Jesus says in Matthew 6:14-15, "If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men of their sins against you, your Father in heaven will not forgive you of your sins."

When you don't forgive, you are ignoring it's impact on your destiny!
