Now, that being said, does your 12 volt batter hold a charge? Most likely if you are having trouble holding a charge you need to replace your 12 volt battery because it is dead.

If it is dead, and you have not tried charging it, try charging it overnight to see if it will hold a charge.

Also, if you prius will not start but you can't tell where the problem lies, and you are suspisious your 12 volt battery may be bad. But do not know how to test it, try a voltage testor.
