Looking the perfect flat screen TV but don't know how to look? Here's a list of suggestions in weighing the possibilities. For more detailed comparison, check this out.
Flat Screen TV Toss-Up

Screen Size
This is actually the length that cuts diagonally across the screen. Plasma TVs can go as high as 103 inches, while LCD TVs trailing at a mere 73 inches.
Versatility
Although you're probably looking for a flat screen television only, you might also be looking for a screen that can serve a variety of functions. Consider how plasmas can easily get burn-in when they display static images for long periods. Other types of flat screens don't have this problem.
Viewing Angle
If you want as many people as possible to watch the TV comfortably, find out the maximum viewing angle of your flat screen.
Lifespan
To top it all off, lifespan will affect your judgement of the flat screen's value for money. There is no use shelling out a couple of thousand dollars for an investment that hardly lasts five years.
Types of Flat Screen Television Technologies
These are the different types of flat screen tv technologies.
Plasma
Check out my lens on Plasma TVs!
LCD: Liquid Crystal Display
Named after the liquid crystals that, when charged, shift in orientation to form an image on the screen.
Think it's easy choosing between a Plasma TV and an LCD TV? What if there were even more options than you've expected?
LCoS: Liquid Crystal on Silicon
Designed for larger-than-50-inch displays, LCoS screens beat plasmas and LCDs in terms of image quality but are definitely more expensive and more difficult to manufacture.
OLED: Organic Light Emitting Diode
Formerly Organic Electro-Luminescence. Consumes much less power because there's no need for a backlight. Image quality is also reputable since it is more capable of displaying true blacks.
SED: Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display
Works much like the old Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT), but has higher refresh rates and contrast ratios.
FED: Field Emission Display
Practically the cousin of FED (and CRT) in terms of technology. It takes up a lot less space than the bulky CRTs and can be also useful for tiny displays.

Get that Home Theater Sound System
For Movie Surround: Place the front speakers at the edges of your flat screen, facing the center of the listening area. The central speaker must be found either over or under the flat screen TV. For rear channel speakers, keep them as high up as possible on side walls, slightly behind your listening area and in a dipole fashion.
For Music Surround: Your speakers must surround your listening area in a circle, with all components equidistant from its center.

- Sometimes things just work out perfectly from start to finish and this was one of those times. Amazon had this unit for a fantastic price, $200 less then Walmart, $150 less then Best Buy 1080p LCD HDTV. I ordered it and took advantage of the super saving shipping which was FREE, was told to expect delivery in 8 to 10 business days, 2 days after placing my order the unit arrived, Fantastic! Love the shipping tracking feature on Amazon, complete with a "heads up" text message when delivery was about to be made. Setup was simple and fast. I already had a HD cable box so I just put the stand on the tv, hooked up a HDMI cable (not included) plugged the unit in and was finished. Picture is just great!! I played around with the Televisions features while going through the picture and audio setup and found it to be very easy to do plus the included owners manual which was on disc and paper was a nice touch. I wish all shopping experiences could go as well as this one did.

- I have literally following the prices of HDTV is now available for about a year, and no better time to upgrade! Samsung just his new series "C", and somehow they are significantly less expensive than existing models! Most websites selling this for $ 800 + HDTV, less than the low Amazon price is less than the rest of the market. I bought here on Amazon, and I have my HDTV in 5 days (would have four days, but I had school all day). CEVA has the shipping costs to my LCD TVs, I at first because I was treated only with UPS and FedEx, on guard. However, CEVA provides excellent customer service, and to contact me and given me oral administration. Packaging was very effective and easy to surprise!

- Samsung LN26B360 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV
Well, the digital transition just wasn't all it was cracked up to be, so I finally bought a new TV.
This TV has a stunning picture at a great price. Easy set up with clearly labeled slots at the back for the various inputs, and easy on-screen controls pop up when you need them.
The size is just right even in a big room if you want a more traditional TV feel, rather than a *monster TV.* I'm delighted with the picture and the sound. DVD's are gorgeous on this screen, and plain vanilla TV is fun to watch again. If you're a first time buyer, you'll be thrilled. If you're adding a small TV to a guest room or exercise room, I think the picture and sound quality is great, and the price is good, too.
