HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Flintstones Vs. Jetsons

I loved the Flintstones cartoon on t.v. The Jetsons were o.k. but, the Flintstones were better. The Flintstones were back in the stone-age and the Jetsons were ahead in the future space-age.
Come tell us which family you like best and why.

Flintstones

BevsPaper says:

That is a tough one because I loved them both. But Fred and Barney win by a hair.

CleanerLife says:

The stories on the Flitstones were definately much better, and the characters were better developed.

Billco says:

Close, but I give my vote to the Flintstones - Mainly because of Fred. George Jetson just doesn't measure up to Fred Flintstone.

Jimmie says:

Yabba Dabba Doo!

triathlontraining says:

Definitely the Flintstones!

ideasbymarz says:

Flintstones hands down are the best

Marie says:

Definetly the Flintstones! They are the best!

kab says:

I like that Flinstones did a commercial for Winston cigarettes, but recently they've got caught up with that Geico - and that lizard creeps me out!

AMK says:

I had to ask my son who the Jetsons were? So I guess I will stick with the Flintstones :) I guess I probably would have anyway. I have not seen much of anything else that can outrank them.

EelKat says:

My fave Flinstone's episode was the one were the guys took the girls on a second honeymoon to Arabia, and than got kidnapped by a band of caravan robbers

(reposting, cause I put this on the wrong side!)

EelKat says:

I liked the Flinstones better, prob'ly cause I remember that show better than the Jetsons. I didn't like the later series when Pebbles and Bam-Bam were teenagers though, the earlier seasons were best.

Tiddledeewinks says:

I liked buddies, Fred & Barney and their chatty wives Wilma & Betty.

Jetsons

Rob says:

I liked the Jetsons better because they had all the gadgets. What can I say, i'm a sucker for cool technology.

marc says:

jetsons !!! i loved them i wish there was some where to watch them online !

fefe says:

I like them both but think the Jetsons are cooler being in the future.

EelKat says:

My fave Flinstone's episode was the one were the guys took the girls on a second honeymoon to Arabia, and than got kidnapped by a band of caravan robbers

EelKat says:

My fave Jetson episode was the Christmas Carol one.

EelKat says:

I remember watching the Jetsons in the '70's but they never played reruns of them later on, so I don't remember them too well, but I liked how they had a conveyor belt to "walk" on instead of walking places.

The Flintstones cartoon

The Flintstones is an animated American television sitcom that ran from 1960 to 1966 on ABC.

Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions (H-B), The Flintstones is about a working class Stone Age man's life with his family and his next door neighbor and best friend. The first prime time animated series geared for adults, the show originally aired from 1960 to 1966, on the ABC network. It was also ABC's first series to be televised in color. While the show was originally co-produced and syndicated by Screen Gems, Warner Bros. Television later acquired the rights, through parent Time Warner's purchase of Turner Broadcasting System and its properties, including H-B.

Screen Gems / Columbia Pictures Television syndicated repeats of the program until 1981, when The Program Exchange picked up syndication on Columbia's behalf. Syndication later moved in the mid-1990s to Turner Program Services, shortly after Turner's acquisition of H-B, and its acquisition of The Flintstones from Columbia.

The Jetsons cartoon

The Jetsons is a prime-time animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The original incarnation of the series aired on Sunday nights on ABC from September 23, 1962 to March 3, 1963. Like The Flintstones, it is a half-hour family sitcom projecting contemporary American culture and lifestyle into another time period. While the Flintstones live in a world with machines powered by birds and dinosaurs, the Jetsons live in a futuristic utopia of elaborate robotic contraptions, aliens, holograms, and whimsical inventions.

The original series, comprising 24 episodes, was produced between 1962 and 1963 and was re-run on Saturday morning for decades. Its continuing popularity led to further episodes being produced for syndication between 1985 and 1987. The series was extensively merchandised and followed by two made for-TV movies and two theatrical feature films.

Product Description
"Meet George Jetson...Jane, his wife...daughter Judy...his boy Elroy..." The catchy tune of The Jetsons ideally captures the lighthearted essence of the show, a futuristic counterpoint to The Flintstones that reflected the space-age optimism of the times. The Jetsons were the very first family, animated or not, to have a big-screen home entertainment system decades before it became a reality. They also had flying cars, floating cities and androids, all commonplace scenery of today?s most popular sci-fi blockbusters. Now this beloved series teletransports onto DVD, all 24 hilarious Season-One episodes - plus Soaring Extras, both newly-made and vintage rarities drawn from the Hanna-Barbera vaults.
