Simple, Easy To Use Flip Video Cameras -- No More Tearing Your Hair Out!

I'm making this page about the supercool, easy-to-use, Flip Video Camcorder Cameras because they make videoing easy and fun for everyone. Lots of technologies just add to your headaches in life, but not the Flip Camcorders. There are no big manuals, complex instructions, no fiddly bits, no special minidisks or video cassettes, no extra leads necessary to connect to your computer (you know the ones you only find out about when you are back at home and miles from the computer store!). It's just easy. Press a button start filming. When you want to stop, press the button again. Flip the USB connector out, stick it in the computer and, Bob's your uncle, you've got a video on your computer! Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy! I think even Apple founder Steve Jobs would approve of the Flip Video!

What's So Special About The Flip Video Camcorder?

Here's my 11-year-old take on this cool new video camera...

You can read all about it and buy a Flip Video here. Meanwhile, let me tell you why I feel compelled (I know, I know...big word -- I looked it up! lol! ) to tell you about the Flip Video.

Uh-O!
How did I hear about the Flip Video? Well, and I'm going to go red admitting this, but I first saw it on Oprah's TV show. She was handing them out to her audience and everyone was going on about how cool and easy to use they were. I called my dad in and he sat and watched with me.

Previous Nightmare Cameras
We'd had a couple of video cameras before. The first was one where you had to put big old cassettes in them. And then you could transfer it onto video. We have some nice vids of me on Christmas morning before I learned to speak... and later on learning to ride a bike. But its obsolete now and it was never easy to use -- so I'm told.
The next video camera my mom bought for my dad's birthday. It was a Panasonic NV-GS230. And to quote my dad... what a piece of cr*p! It had a manual that was like the phone book, with about a dozen different languages in it. The instructions were real complicated with stupid little pictures that you couldn't see what was going on. We never did figure out how to get a video off that camera onto the PC! My dad reckons that's when his hair started receeding! :-))

Our Flip Video Camcorder!
My dad got a flip video. I think he was one of the first in our area to get one. I opened the box for him when it came. Oh my god, it was sooooo cool, just like when you open an iPod. The packaging was kinda like that.

Flip "Manual"
We hate stupid complicated manuals, right? Well, hooray, the Flip Video comes with a single sheet of paper with the clearest, easiest to understand instructions that even an adult could understand!! (Ha ha! Yeah, I know all about you guys... I've been in charge of the video and the DVD since I was Five years old!)

Just add batteries
All you have to do is slide the back cover off, pop in a couple (2) of AA batteries and you are all set. None on that leaving it on charge for hours! It's light as a feather too (well, maybe an Ostrich feather!).

Turn it on and away you go, Spielberg!
Flip video camcorders are SO easy, you just press down the slider on the side, to turn it on. Then you press the red button on the back of the Flip Vido to start filming. Point it at your dog, your mother, your girlfriend and suddenly you are in the movie business! You can zoom in and out. You can run around with it. You stop filming with the same button. Could it get any easier? No, it's brilliantly simple, leaving you to get on with the creative stuff!

Yay, no more cassettes or mini-disks!
Thank the Lord, no more expensive cassettes or min-disks to buy. You can just flip out the little USB connector arm and plug it into a free USB port on your computer, and upload your movie clips to your computer. Then you can upload them to online video storage sites to share with your friends and family, or even the whole world if you fancy going the YouTube route. Hey, you can even send them into those funny video shows -- maybe you can win $250 for your video? Oh yes, you can also put your vid clips on DVD disks as well. Cool aint it?
