Learning to walk:

I stumbled onto Squidoo.com by accident, what a great accident this has been. I am honored to be a part of the very best social network on the internet.

The majority of these lenses are designed to inspire Christians to reach for a new level in becoming kingdom minded and less worldly. While it may seem that I assume everyone is a Christian; that could not be further from the truth. I understand that the Christian movement has not grown in ages in America. My personal mission is to share Jesus Christ by giving the living testimony of my life and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to inspire and convict. Put simply, I am powerless and lowly but the Spirit within me is only limited by how much I get in the way. I am still learning to "walk".

Below are groups of the lenses I have made in no particular order. Thank you for visiting my lensography!

Scott Smith ~Forgiven

p.s. (does anyone use p.s.???) please stay awhile, check out the videos, relax and have a good time while you are here! Thank you all SOO much for your warm words and your inspiring visits! God bless you!

Please pray for my son!

His heart is failing.

This is my son, his name is Kollin. Let me tell you what a great kid I have. Without going into years of detail I would say that his best quality is that He almost always considers others first. Even when facing such an early death, his prayers last night were focused on abused children all because we drove by a sign that gave some stats on child abuse. He really is a great kid. I am blessed to be his second dad and I am blessed to learn from him what faith really means.

If you believe in prayer, I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to put it to use! I have three specific prayer requests that I ask of you. The first is that God will heal my son's heart and make him well. The second is that our family will have the strength to carry on and the third is that if my boy should go home to be with Jesus, that we will accept it as Gods perfect will.

When Kollin was four we discovered that he had a rare heart disease called HCM. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in simplest definition it is when the heart muscle becomes hard and has to work extra hard to function. Have you ever heard of a healthy football player dropping dead on the field? That is an example of a case where the disease was not discovered until too late. We were blessed to discover Kollins condition at an early age but unfortunately his condition has suddenly taken a turn for the worse. His doctor has placed him at a rare "Sudden Death" risk due to massive hardening and blockage of his heart that occurred over the last six months. We are waiting on a group of doctors at UAB to discuss our options. It is already too late to scrape his heart to thin the muscle so we are not sure what we face.

Kollin is really the strong one through all of this. His biggest concern is that if he dies, his 7 month old baby sister will have never known him. How do you respond to that?

Please pray for my boy. Please ask your church and everyone you know to pray for him. You can email me for more information if you want that you can forward to others to pray for Kollin. My email address is badride5 at gmail.com

Thank you and God bless you!
Because of Christ,
Scott Smith

Why all the Christian lenses? What do I gain?

Simply put and as short as I can: I have lived on this earth for 36 years. Of those 36 years around 11 or so were spent learning to be mature enough to know right from wrong. 23 of those years were spent living a self indulging it's all about me life. 1 of those years was spent learning who Christ is and only 1 of the 36 total years I have been blessed with has been spent giving back or caring whether or not others live a life free from the slavery of sin.

If I were to die right now and the God who gave me all were to ask me: Scott, what have you done with the time on earth I have given you? I am ashamed to say that I would have to say: Lord, I wasted all but a year on myself.

I hope to live to be old enough to give back more than a year. I can honestly say that this past year has been the best year of my life! I am not saying that it has been easy but it has been a truly peaceful fulfilling year filled to overflowing with joy! It is my prayer that somehow some of these lenses may bless others and that we would all live like tomorrow will never come.

"Our offering to God is this: We are the sweet smell of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are being lost. To those who are lost, we are the smell of death that brings death, but to those who are being saved, we are the smell of life that brings life.

So who is able to do this work? We do not sell the word of God for a profit as many other people do. But in Christ we speak the truth before God, as messengers of God."
2 Corinthians 2:15-17 NCV

How heavy is your burden?

this simple video can change your life right now!

What about your lensography?

please place a link in the feedback section.

A lensography is a phrase coined by Thefluffanutta. It’s a jazzed up version of the Squidoo Bio page consisting of your lenses and more information about you.

I came up with this even goofier sounding word by accident, much like coming across Squidoo. A faithography is a lensography that has one or more lenses based on your faith in Christ. No I’m not talking about old school bible thumpin burn in hell if you don’t wear a tie on Sunday lenses but lenses that reflect or include Jesus Christ or His teachings.

If you don’t have a lensography, then please consider building one. Leave me a link in the feedback section and I will be honored to visit and rate.

This lens supports Modest Needs

Find out moreThis and every lens made by Forgiven (Scott Smith) proudly donates all proceeds to Modest Needs.

Founded in 2002, Modest Needs is an award-winning charity that works to stop the cycle of poverty before it starts for low-income workers struggling to afford emergency expenses like those we've all encountered before: the unexpected auto repair, the unanticipated trip to the doctor, the unusually large winter heating bill.

At Modest Needs, we believe that EVERY person has the power to make a difference. So, by choice, the work we do at Modest Needs is funded exclusively by the 'small change' donations of people just like you.

The average gift of these extraordinary people? Between $5 and $100 at a time.

Since 2002, our donors' 'small change' has stopped the cycle of poverty for 3651 individuals and families who stood to lose everything over a short-term financial emergency. But with your support, we could reach even more of the hard-working people who need our help the most.

Discover your power to change a life. Please join your friends and neighbors in supporting Modest Needs.

Because Modest Needs has earned the highest possible charity rating from the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance, you can give with confidence, knowing that we won't abuse your kindness.

But more importantly, simply by working together in this very modest way, we can make sure that no hard-working person is ever forced to choose between taking a child to the doctor and putting food on the table.

About Forgiven

I am a simple man with a wife, a baby fresh out of the oven and 2 kids that are well done =).  I make mistakes, I hurt, I cry, I love and I live. I am just a man with no degrees or labels. I offer something that can never be taken or forced, never stolen or cheated and I give freely the gift given to me; purchased at the highest cost. The most important and sacred gift of all -Love! Dig deeper, walk with me and discover the source of this amazing gift.

All too often people are shown the gospel of Christ and then left to figure the rest out on their own so to speak. It is my prayer that the journey or "The Walk" will not be alone, that we will become what we were designed to be: -We are the Church!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and God bless,
