My Insanity Fit Test
Day One
Fit Test

We are off and running. Day one of the Insanity workout came complete with a single goal; complete the Fit Test to the best of your ability and look towards the future for continued growth. No mentioned in the commercial or website, the first day is rough on the body. 8 minutes of workout brought forth two light headed episodes and the slight feeling of puke in my throat. Word of caution be prepared, drink water between breaks, and remember to breath.
Day 2
Plyometric Cardio Circuit
I awoke this morning feeling like a bomb had gone off in my legs; specifically my quads and hamstrings, oh and my calves. It is clear this workout is designed to break you before it builds you. Yesterday was only 8 minutes of fitness testing, today is 35 minutes of plyometric cardio training. I short there is not a muscle on my body that is not sore, even my little toe is sore. My thought process has shifted from enthusiasm to self preservation. The next 59 days is going to be life changing!
Post Workout Observation
OK so Day 2 workout is officially in the books and the 35 minutes could not of gotten over any sooner. This was a challenge of the wills. I would be lying if I said, I was able to go at all 35 minutes without stopping; simply untrue. I'm beginning to think Shaun T is out to kill off the world of out of shape people only to be left with the cream of the fit. I would like to know the person who is able to do all the plyometric cardio circuit on Day 2. Folks watch out for the "ski abs" and the "in & outs" during the basketball series--they're deadly. Well off to shower and then sit on the couch while I contemplate Day 3.
Day 3
Power and Resistance Training
Pre-Workout ReflectionMy god, my legs are so sore. The key to today is finding help in ridding of my sore hamstrings and quads. I even have some soreness in my lower back today that wasn't there yesterday. They say Day 3 is the toughest day of any workout routine. Your body wants to give up, but you have to have a strong will and mind to keep pushing through. Tomorrow is Yoga and recovery, if I can push through today the soreness should begin to go away. Let us hope and pray!
Post Workout Reflection
Day 3 brought forth a multitude of brand new exercises geared towards core power. Introducing the "power jack" which took me swiftly in our battle during the fitness test on day one. Today, I fared much better. A ray of sun shine peaked through the clouds during today's workout; I was able to push through the opening series without stopping for air. Not sure if this was improvement in my cardio fitness or shear will power. Only time will tell. In all this workout was challenging and brought me to my knees with exercises such as the "power jump" and "hop squats". Looking forward to tomorrows cardio recovery!

Day 4
Cardio Recovery
Here's the story, yesterday I powered through a grueling 35 minute power and resistance workout only to walk away with jello legs yet again. Then I had to turn around and officiate an All-Star basketball game, so I felt like my reflection on day 4 may not be true to the workout. Yet, much to my surprise I have relatively little soreness in my legs this morning. Maybe just maybe this whole "Insanity" thing might be working. Let's have a little fun with the Cardio Recovery routine today.
Post Workout Reflection
The cardio recovery workout was a much needed break from the insane cardio element of the routine. Yet, Shaun T--the man--replaced the insane cardio with a grueling squat routine which, yet again, made my legs feel like jello or maybe even nacho cheese. It is clear of Day 4 that my weak area(s) are in my hip flexors and hamstrings. I must add the yoga incorporated into the recovery workout was excellent and felt outstanding.
Day 5
Pure Cardio Workout
I simply underestimated yesterday's "recovery" routine as a means for a break. The lunge workout associated with yesterday's routine has caused a soreness deeper then I ever thought possible in my hip flexors and the tops of my knees; if you can believe that. We are blessed today to have our first really great spring evening and the intent is to complete tonight's Pure Cardio workout on our patio. Wish me luck!
Post Workout Reflection
Just when I thought Shaun T could not come up with anything more challenging then "Power Jacks" and "Level 1 Drill", enter the Pure Cardio. Holy crap I've never been pushed to this level before, the light headedness returned and a slight feeling of having to vomit re-introduced itself during the "frog jumps". 30 minutes of straight workout, NO REST! Oddly enough, the recovery time associated with each workout and my body is getting shorter. Meaning, I don't have to sit on the couch for nearly as long recovering from near death. I honestly feel like something is beginning to work.
Day 6
Plyometric Cardio Workout
I woke this morning waiting for my useful pain to yell at me from underneath my covers, however today much to my surprise the pain has been diminished. Not to say there still isn't any pain--specifically in my calves, but on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst its more like a 4. Quite a trip from 10 to 4. Apparently, my muscles are beginning to buy into the concept of interval training. Only if my mind will follow.
Post Workout Reflection
I did it! The first week is complete and I know can officially check off the week on my calendar. Though I had to power through multiple light headed spells, a few moments of pending puke, shear exhaustion, and the world's sorest muscles. I am beginning to build up hope that I can complete this 60 day challenge. Today, I feel great. I seemed to recover fast from the workout. The one observation I was able to make was my cardio and endurance to complete each workout segment has improved, but the recovery interval to return my heart rate to a resting state has gotten longer. Took my blood pressure today and it was a great 124/65--this is awesome in my world.

Week 2 (Day 8)
Day 8
Power & Resistance Training
I'd love to say that I have recovered following my much needed day off. Word of wisdom, take advantage of your days off during this workout. I began week 2 (day 8) on a fresh note. Very little soreness and no real lethargy at all. In fact, I'm in the mood for insanity training. I actually kind of missed the routine. For me its a way to temporarily forget the day to day stress in my life. Bring on Power and Resistance!
Post Workout Reflection
I am quite pleased with my effort this evening. I found myself with a great deal of energy and never lost my breath until the final stage of the workout. Where I did notice some pain was in my legs. They felt really tired! Might I add, I am growing to dislike globe jumps and moving push ups. Only felt like I was going to puke during the final stretch and the 8 & 8 series of hop squats and push ups. Peace!

Day 9
PURE CARDIO
No real soreness this morning when I got up, I must say I have a bit of lethargy I am trying to overcome. Today is the very hard and very real "PURE CARDIO" workout. This workout is off the hook. Let's see how it goes. We'll get back at ya after the grind.
Post Workout Reflection
So, I just completed Day 9's workout. I have to admit the undertaking of these workouts for 51 more days causes a strong urge of anxiety. The Pure Cardio workout is not for the weak of heart, today I was able to complete the workout with a few breaks. Completing this workout is just as much mental as it is physical. You must first remember to drink your water and stretch and then go into it with the frame of mind you are doing this for your future. Set yourself goals. As for me, my blood pressure was getting to become an issue and at the age of 31 I didn't want to find myself in a bad way. Thus, my motivation is far more then how I look in the mirror; however it is a real bonus. I've never sweated as much in my life as I just did in my Day 9 workout. Off to shower and drink some more water. WOW......

Day 10
Plyometric Cardio Workout
One of the biggest challenges to completing the 60 day program is keeping yourself motivated enough to do the 35 minutes worth of mind boggling routines day after day. At some point like anything else you settle into a pattern and patterns, while comfortable, are not energizing. Today, I took a gaze at my workout calendar and seeing 50 more days was a bit overwhelming. Yet, I am not giving up. I turned to a higher power for motivation--I watched last nights BIggest Loser episode. Seeing these people make real changes in their lives is extremely motivating to me. I have found the power to keep pushing forward. Plyo hear I come!
Post Workout Reflection
Day 10 finished. I have to say, I am feeling stronger during the workout. I even feel like for once I am finding a great since of accomplishment. I can do this! What a great workout today. Ski Abs still kill me, but I will demolish them by day 60. Love this workout and the sunshine outside.
Day 11
Cardio Recovery
I'm not gonna lie to you all. My abs are sore as hell today. I'm not sure if its because I honestly powered through the "in & outs" yesterday or what, but something worked them. Today is a great day for recovery for I can barely sit myself up off the couch. I'm looking forward to the deep stretching and yoga of today's Cardio Recovery.
Post Workout Reflection
This is my second attempt at the cardio recovery routine and for the second straight time my quads and hamstrings are trembling. Sure, its a break from the cardio aspect of the workout, but its not a "break". This cardio recovery routine includes some solid but challenging yoga stretches coupled with a deadly lung and squat series. You think I'm crying, just try it yourself. Wow....glad that's over with.
Day 12
Power & Resistance Workout
I'd be lying if I told you that I was ready for today's workout. I am still tired from last night's late cardio recovery routine.
Post Workout Reflection
I've gotta tell you this was by far and away the toughest day of Insanity thus far. Not because the routine was a difficult, but my mindset was weak. I went into the workout tired from the previous nights routine and it controlled everything I was able to do today. My legs are shot! The power that was normally there was not today and I could tell. I just kept pushing through. I think maybe I've hit the workout "wall". Does anyone out there have any idea's on getting over the wall? Tomorrow's workout is scheduled for 5:45 am--we are leaving for the weekend.
Day 13
PURE CARDIO & CARDIO ABS, OH MY!
I had to wake up at 5:45 this morning to complete my workout for we are headed out for the weekend. To be honest my evaluation of how I felt was lost in the fuzzy of just waking up. Let's see how it goes.
Post Workout Reflection
I good friend told me to try to eat carbs followed by a protein within 30 minutes of my workout to jump the wall. I plan to try it today. The workout was a killer. Today was my first look at the cardio abs routine. No, I mean NO sit ups or crunches, yet my stomach is tired. The early morning thing seemed to be a little more energizing. I might suggest to break the routine from your daily regiment and change up times you do your workout. Well have a great weekend, I'm off to watch some little league.

Day 15
Fitness Test II

Today as my second fitness test. The proof was definitely going to be in the pudding. In order for me to be successful I needed to be able to visualize results. I have to say what concluded was impressive for 15 days worth of intense cardio training. I improved on ALL of my test exercises by a large margin. This stuff is working and I love it. I can't wait to keep going. The chart shows my results compared to Test I taken on day I. Stay tuned for video of my second fit test.
Day 16
Plyometric Cardio Training
I am still riding "high" from yesterday's fitness test results. In many cases I exceeded the 20% goal I set for myself during week one. I am wondering if there is a plateau to this workout that I should be cautious of. I simply shouldn't expect these sorts of results every two week--or should I? The soreness has all be disappeared. I'm finding a bit of stiffness in a hip on my right side but think this could be from sleeping funny on it last night. Week 3's workout begins NOW!
Post Workout Reflection
I came across a new experience tonight. I was able to blast through the warm up no problem and finished the first 3 reps at a breakneck speed. However, once I entered into the basketball workout(s) I seemed to hit a brick wall and it was a struggle to the finish. Not sure what happened, I was going strong and then SMASH into the wall. I did fuel my body after the workout this time to help with some next morning fatigue and recovery.
Day 17
PURE CARDIO & CARDIO ABS
A long day of subbing in shop class has drained my energy reserves. I have to say I am not really looking forward to both workouts this evening. I've had to wait until my wife got home from work so she can watch the kiddo while I breath hard. Without a doubt my least favorite of the routines is cardio abs. Probably because I have (had) a beer belly.
Post Workout Reflection
Well just what I expected. Pure Cardio got the blood boiling but wore me completely out. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to complete this workout from start to finish. We'll see. Even greater was the crazy Abs workout. My hip flexors are tired!
Day 18
Cardio Recovery
Pre-Workout ReflectionI have to admit my driving motivation at this point is to be able to put another check mark on the progress calander that accompanied the workout. It does my heart good to walk into the room, find my black marker, and force yet another check mark upon the box outlining the day's routine. In today's case we'll be checking off the cardio recovery box. This routine has blasted me in the past and my opinion is it will get me again.
Post Workout Reflection
YES YES YES, another check mark and as predicted it blasted my hamstrings, hip muscles, and quads. It is however a welcome relieve from the normal "crazy" of the cardio workouts. In fact, I rather enjoy it....well with one exception; those crazy lunge exercises. They're killer!
Day 19
Power & Resistance Training
Speaking from the truth here, my legs are shot today and I am searching for the energy to complete today's workout. I'm sure a great deal of my problem comes from those "day's off" we are suppose to be taking every Sunday become days away from the workout, but create open windows for me to do other things such as officiate city league basketball. Thus, they are not days off at all! We'll push through--however I think I will take my day off this Sunday.
Post Workout Reflection
If you can imagine the collision that would take place between to semi trucks moving at a high rate of speed, then you can imagine the collision that took place between my mental will power and physical ability during today's workout. My mind was willing but my legs were not having any. This is the first time during this whole workout that I have to admit I am physically tired. Getting through the tough leg workouts have taken their effect on me this week. I can't wait until Sunday so I can get some sort of recovery. I guess I should also look into proper nutrition. PEACE
Day 20
Plyometric & Cardio Training
Another week comes to a close, which means another week closer to completing the 60 day challenge. I got a great night of sleep and am pushing to eat a bit healthier today to reap the benefits come workout time. I think I may even try to supplement my workout nutrition with a post workout Muscle Milk. We'll see if this helps. The good news is I have no soreness what so ever!
Post Workout Reflection
I can definitely tell that I am getting stronger both in my endurance and stamina. These workouts are the real deal. The true secret is to push yourself through each routine. There is no need to try to keep up with the trainer unless you are physically capable of doing so. Rather the true secret is to do the exercises for as hard and as long as you can each and every time. About Day 12 I felt myself hitting a wall and finding it hard to push through each exercise; but I put myself there mentally and powered through. Now I am keeping up with the trainer for most all of the exercise-minus the moving push ups of course.

Day 22
PURE CARDIO & CARDIO ABS
Coming off of a much needed day off, I am ready to pick up right where I left off. I'm not sure what I did, but I have a ankle that bothering me a bit but not enough to ground for today's Cardio blast. As week 4 begins I am looking forward to moving on to a new series of workouts. The one draw back of this program is it offers great new routines for the first week and then you are stagnant for a month. Change is fun and new is good!
Post Workout Reflection
For some reason every time I do the ab workout I feel sick for the next 5 hours. I'm not sure why this is; maybe my ab muscles are so weak they crap from the intensity of the workout. Today, I tried something new, I elected to take a PowerBar energy packet prior to the workout. I have to say it enabled me to go harder for longer periods of time, but when I was wore out I was wore out. Nevertheless, day 22 down. Almost to the half way mark.
Day 23
Power and Resistance Training
I have to admit the motivation to continue to move forward with the workouts is starting to dissipate. The same ole 5 routines is beginning to become more of a job then a stress reducing activity. Do they continue to work me to the bone; heck yes! I am so looking forward to the new workout series to begin during week 5.
Post Workout Reflection
Like my 8 month old who moves from toy to toy as quickly as his attention span can keep up, I am in search of new and motivating ways to stay on top of my game. Today's workout was "work", but and I mean but I have found a new resource tool at Beachbody that allows me to track my workouts, post up-to-date pictures, chart my goals and progress, chat with others doing the same workout, and provide tips to help me stay motivated and healthy while doing so. Day 23 brought the monotony of the Power & Resistance routine, it also introduced a great ray of sunshine in my WOWY motivation data base. See you all tomorrow for Plyo.
Day 24
Plyometric Training
Here is this the story, I am pushing through a mild stomach problem today. My plan is to complete day 24 with some gusto. I've been hydrating like a wild man in hopes this will help hold off the stomach for a 35 minute workout. On a positive note, this morning as I gazed at myself in the mirror I believe I actually started to see a difference in my physical stature. I am beginning to stand a bit taller and it appears my stomach is starting to firm up. Its got to be that pesky Cardio Ab and PURE Cardio workout.
Post Workout Reflection
What makes this workout so great is that it designed for the average person to work as hard as they've ever worked in their lives and in the end there is measurable achievement. Today, is the first day I can tell you I conquered the entire routine from start to finish. YES, none stop! Get this, not only did I finish the entire routine without taking a break, I went out and ran another mile afterward. While, I have to admit I skipped out on the "in & out" abs do to my bad stomach I went as hard as possible from start to finish and substituted the "in & out" abs for scissors. WOW....I'm proud of myself.
Day 25
Cardio Recovery
I must admit the stomach issue I've been experiencing has not gone away so a day with little to no cardio is a much needed relief. Although, I am not looking forward to the lunge routine.
Post Workout Reflection
Has anyone heard of the new Gatorade Recovery drink? I would love to have your opinion on this stuff. I need a great recovery drink in order to start mending some of these chronic issues such as being tired physically and mentally. Tonight's workout went well. My legs are jello--but aren't they always. I am finding this workout to much more of a "stress" reliever then anything else. Sure the lunge exercises make me feel like I can't walk, but the breathing and stretching is very helpful in regenerating and relaxing my mind. Wow....late workout tonight, time for bed!
Day 26
PURE CARDIO
For the first time this year the weather is going to cooperate and I am going to do the workout on the patio. Chances are I will sweat my tail off, but it will be a wise change of pace; something I have been searching for for a few weeks now. The one thing about this workout is that seems to leave very little room for adjustment. Either you're doing the exercise(s) or you're not! Let's see how I do switch kicks....PURE CARDIO SWEET CHEEKS.
Day 27
Power & Resistance Training
I have to tell you, I never believe I would make it to this stage of the game. Today marks the end of the first half of the challenge. I have officially completed half of the workout. While I can't say it was "easy" or that I "never thought about quitting" I can say I've done it. Just being able to finish the first half is a great accomplishment for me. Yet, there is more to do and now I am looking forward to finishing what I started.
Post Workout Reflection
All i have to add, "I'M HALF WAY DONE!" Lovin' it.
Day 29
Core Cardio & Balance
Yesterday was my first official "day off" from any sort of physical activity. Insanity gives you every Sunday off, however life doesn't stop on Sunday's so I've been physically active even on my "days off". What a nice change of pace no worrying about my workout routines, nutrition, etc etc. I guess again the proof will be in the pudding. This is a "recovery" week. We'll see what Shaun T has in mind for recovery.
Post Workout Reflection
Well "recovery" from what I am asking. Tis true this was not a physically challenging, however this week brings new exercises which are taxing all the same. There is certainly a great deal of break time in-between each exercise. The new workouts--hip flexor burners--are married with the classics--hop squats--to form a refreshing routine which doesn't leave you puking. All in all I believe I could make a week out of this no doubt.
Day 30
Cardio Core and Balance
Pre Workout ReflectionFEAR! I feared the soreness that might be my shoulders and hips this morning when I awoke. Having a name like Core Cardio and Balance one might be lead to believe this workout is all yoga and stretching. WRONG AGAIN! There is a new shoulder routine which seems simple from the view in the backseat but if you're the driver this thing is very real.
Post Workout Reflection
It was a long day at work. I almost skipped tonight's routine for American Idol and a new episode of Glee but once again my motivation to complete the challenge as designed over powered my drive to be lazy. Yet again the darn shoulder routine killed me! For the most part the cardio side of things is pretty easy. The burners and the shoulders make up for it, believe me. Good night all.....its the shower and then bed for my tired body.
Day 31
Core Cardio & Balance
I have to say this week thus far has been a welcomed break from the jaw breaking activities of the regular Insanity routines. While this week's routine has its own challenge it is not cardio based to say the least. In fact, I am starting to feel like I miss the overwhelming cardio experience and moments of dry heaving coupled with the onset of exercise induced asthma (I don't really have asthma). Tonight, I've elected to do an extra run on top of the 40 minute workout. Have you all tried the new Gatorade G Series? I'm gonna try it the next few days--will report on it soon.
Post Workout Reflection
Done, done, done, and done. The flexor burners almost crippled me again, but I honestly feel as though my core and balance has improved since Day 1. My legs don't shake at all after the workouts now. The beauty being I get to mark another "X" on the progress calendar.
Shaun T
- Shaun T on the 700 Club
- Shaun T, creator of Insanity and Hip Hop Abs, teaches you how to sculpt the body you want in 60 days.
Day 32
Core Cardio & Balance
As you all very well know by now I went on a jog after last nights workout. Yup, that back fired on me today. My legs were shot. Don't think I'll go for a run tonight after the workout.
Post Workout Reflection
I'm honestly starting to think my cardio stamina is starting to decrease with this week's workout. I find myself getting tired even with the breaks in-between each exercise. I'm beginning to dread getting back into the main program next week.
Day 33
Core Cardio & Balance
I have to say, today is just another day in my life. Nothing to special to report on the health front. I can add that it sunny and warm for the first time this year and I plan on doing my workout on the patio. Let's see how the spring heat treats me.
Post Workout Reflection
It could be that I have heat stroke. Today's patio workout was a bit premature. Folks remember to drink lots of water if attempting to venture outdoors with this workout. Whether is recovery for not, heat stroke is no joke. I hope I don't have it.
Day 34
Core Cardio and Balance
Last night I was pretty sure I gave myself "heat stroke" so in my mind; I'm thinking why not challenge it again. "What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger, right?" Wrong. I'm waiting for the sun to go down tonight before I complete the final in a series of routines designed to help my body recover. The first few days of warm weather has really brought out the exercise birds, I can't help but think I am way ahead of the curve this year. Maybe I should become a "insanity" coach.
Post Workout Reflection
I've been drinking my Gatorade Prime and Recovery formula religiously and must say tonight's workout was "cake". I'm a bit terrified for what Monday has to bring, I've watched the "Max Interval Circuit" and think its more crazy then anything I've tried thus far. To top it off I'm planning on a "shakeology" cleanse on the 26th. 3 days of "shakeology", fruit, and veggies. This could be interesting!
Day 35
Off Day
Today's is an official "no action" day. My ankles can sure use it. Tomorrow is the start of the real challenge. Day 36
Fitness Test & Max Interval Training
I've drank my Gatorade Prime and am waiting the 60 minutes required before peak performance can be achieved. Most--if not everyone--would run from what is about to happen today. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you I had some anxiety last night in bed just thinking about all of the activity required today. Its truly a challenge. Not only are we 8 minutes in a fitness test, but then we follow it with 60 minutes of max interval training. This friends could be series. Check back later for the third installment of my fitness test video's. Peace.
Post Workout Reflection
I once read a quote by Russell Simmons by which he said, "You first have to start before you can succeed at anything." Today I began the next phase in the Insanity journey; MAX INTERVAL CIRCUIT. Its clear after nearly an hour and a half of mind boggling and body challenging exercises the first month is just to get you started. For those who think they can jump right into Day 36 and do this workout, I wish ado. I am spent both physically and mentally. Hopefully, I'll be able to recover for tomorrow's routine--yet another mind blowing 60 minutes of Insanity.

Fitness Test III Results
Day 37
Max Plyo Training
I am as sore today as I was after the first day of this 60 day challenge. The extra 15 minutes for each workout is a challenge both physically and mentally. My hamstrings, quads, and shoulders are all on the IR today. I'm a bit nervous about what today's workout brings. I purposely don't watch the workout until I am in the middle of it for fear it may scare me off.
Post Workout Reflection
Oddly enough I just weighed myself following the workout and I have only lost 5 pounds since I started this challenge, but without a doubt I am stronger. I feel the strength in my legs even doing the simple things like walking around the grocery store. My self-esteem is growing with each day I complete. I'm headed towards the finish. There was a lot of squads and push ups in today's workout. I actually kind of feel a headache coming on--most likely from the built up tension in my shoulders.
Day 38
Max Cardio Conditioning
Just when I thought I could not get any more sore, at last I figured out I can. I can barely drag my glutes around the house today. I did manage to get a massive headache after yesterday's routine, so I am thinking and praying we won't be doing a great deal of push ups today. Wish me luck!

I am not lying here, this new round of routines is where the Insanity name comes from. I am having a terrible time adjusting to the extra 15 minutes in the workout and find that I am totally wiped out about the 40 minute mark. Thus, I am in need of a good "max" recovery day, right?
Post Workout Reflection
This by far and away was the best recovery routine of the series. There was a lot of focus on stretching, breathing, and simple relaxation techniques for your tired muscles. I absolutely enjoyed this routine and didn't walk away drained from the routine. There was some mild shaking in the hip flexors, but a nice refreshing night of Insanity. I NEEDED THAT!
Day 41
Max Interval Training
After a much needed stretch yesterday, I have to admit I am kinda wishing we could have two days of it. I've waited all day to do my workout and am now a bit worried I have waited to long and I will be up all night. Exercise does that to me late in the evenings.
Post Workout Reflection
IT SUCKED! I just couldn't find the energy needed, and after about 35 minutes was dragging tail . One thing I wish this program came with was a book of the exercises so I could see how they are suppose to be done. Sure Shaun T does a great job of exampling them, but its in the middle of the workout and before you know it we are off to another 3 minute interval.
Day 42
Max Plyo Training
This baby got me before and all be go to hell if I'll let it get me again. The sun is shinning and am I wishing I was outside working in the yard instead of getting ready to spend an hour doing this hell bent routine. Its all for the best I guess. I can say the change in time seems as though it requires a great deal more of time commitment. I wonder why we didn't just pick up the intensity and keep the workouts to about 35 minutes.
Post Workout Reflection
Why my body doesn't show it (YET) I believe I may be in the best shape of my life. Not only did I knock out the routine today, but I took advantage of the great weather and went for a 3 mile jog afterward. My wife said when I got back and I quote, "You don't even look tired" and I wasn't! I love being in great cardio condition. Now a day off to get my legs back underneath me.
Day 43
Recovery Day!
Recovery ReflectionToday is a much needed recovery day, yet I find myself feeling as though I am missing something in my daily routine. I've grown so used to powering through Insanity everyday that I am empty on recovery days. I suggested going for an afternoon run in the rain, but my wife being the wise one in the relationship must see the total exhaustion on my face and threatened to tie me to the couch for the afternoon. This was wise far beyond her years..LOL!
Day 44
Max Cardio Conditioning
I awoke this morning to breaking news that Jamaica is under siege and the oil spill off the Gulf coast is no closer to being controlled then it was a week ago. The world is full of stress. In fact, I've had a single day off of my insanity workouts and I feel more anxiety this morning then I have in the past--I didn't sleep well--not sure why, but I didn't. Definitely not going to let it ruin my life. Looking forward to a blast through Max Cardio this afternoon.
Post Workout Reflection
It absolutely amazes me with all of the crazy workout devices out there today, we still turn to the old school tried and true blood and sweat to achieve our wellness goals. Cardio in Insanity is really short for "Crazy beyond Medication". The workout kicked me in the hamstrings over and over again. It always seems as though the workouts following "recovery" days is a big of a challenge. Takes a bit to get the muscles up and going. Back in the saddle again and closing in on 10 days remaining.
Day 45
Max Interval Training
Oh my goodness I am sun burnt from yesterday's yard work and wonderful weather. The first nice day of the season usually brings a crisp toast upon my pale skin. Feeling pretty good today. Ive called upon a few of my Facebook friends and Insanity Coaches to help me with the tired feeling in my legs. You'd think after 45 days your body would be getting used to the shear exhaustion. Not so!
Post Workout Reflection
Moved my workout outdoors today. The cool breeze and rays of sunshine as they moved through the clouds was a perfect environment for Insanity. I killed it! In fact, I wanted to go for a run afterward, but thought better of it given my problem with lethargy in my legs. The one thing I have noticed as of late is the weight loss is minimal for day 45. I figured I would have lost more weight. My body is definitely changing, clothes are fitting better but the weight is still there. I am super stoked about the 3 Day Shakeology Cleanse my friend has turned me onto. Could get interesting now couldn't it?

Day 46
Max Plyo Traning
Wow, I am exhausted today. Not that my muscles feel tired, I am just tired. It doesn't help I am sun burnt and can't hardly put my hands above my shoulders. Going to have to pull through Day 46. I'm closing in on the stretch run and am not giving up now.
Post Workout Reflection
I am quite certain this is the toughest workout routine of the whole series. I was sweating so much it was dripping on my hardwood floor and I was having to mop it up. It always makes my body shake after I am finished with this routine. Good thing I've got a max recovery day tomorrow. Not sure if my legs could take another pile driver or pogo jump.

- Thank you for sharing. It is good to read what someone else is going through the same time you are going through it. I just finished my second day and I could not get through the entire DVD. I was really down on myself until I read that it is normal. I will push through and go for it again tomorrow!!
