Fotoflexer Tips and Tricks

Fotoflexer has given Picnik a run for the money in features. From the basics like rotate, resize, or crop images; flip, draw, erase, and fill; to the convenient re-color hair or skin with only three clicks; and the advanced animations. Once you upload a photo to the site, you'll see a simple interface complete yet it has power like automatic exposure correction, red eye removal, resizing and cropping. The program has a wide range of effects like blurred edges, grayscale and sepia conversion, and the ability to "cartoonify" your photos. Fotoflexer even has support for layers similar to commercial programs like Adobe. FotoFlexer seamlessly integrates its services with social networking sites; photos can be edited straight from Flickr, Photobucket, Facebook, MySpace, and more.

Fotoflexer remains a solid choice for simple photo editing - but Fotoflexer is stagnating (little new development) while services like iPiccy, Citrify and PhotoShop Express and others are adding new features all the time.

Not as fancy a website as Picnik but an amazing number of features are available via one-click on LunaPic. Especially powerful with easy to build animations. Create cubes, add effects, zoom, crop, remove blemishes - you name it! They say "Pimp Your Profile Pictures for MySpace and FaceBook" and indeed they make it easy to move photos to those sites.

Photoshop Express is a web based and free version of Photoshop. Photoshop is the name of a brand though some people think it is a generic term for photo editing.

Sure it's a less featured version of the expensive Photoshop software. That said you won't miss many of the exotic features as this tool is targeted at mainstream consumers, not professionals. Photoshop Express is a free - all it requires is an easy registration.

I find fotoFlexer excellent when it works but its very temperamental. Either it won't load or if it does it sometimes freezes & I have to start again, but I usually win in the end.

Typically if you are having this type of basic trouble it means your Internet browser is older or your internet access is being restricted somehow (limited javascript, certain sites blocked). In these case I would suggest a software download like Photojoy (http://www.squidoo.com/photojoy) which is free.
