Get a Free Education, Really

This is what I do. I am a full time mom and full time student. I know, you are saying to yourself, not another educational resource page. And that is okay. It is hard trying to sift through the good, the bad, and the can not possibly mention in a G-rated Lens. Am I right?

Let us take this slowly. Today I will give you some useful information - notice I said useful. And the best part is it will not cost you one red cent. That is absolutely correct. Your eyes are not deceiving you. You can actually learn something for free. Amazing.

So, bare with me and take the time to read through what I have to offer. I will include the links to all sites listed after each module to make things simple and convenient. Easy peasy! Shall we get started?

Let us all try to remember those less fortunate than us, today and every day.

If you do not have the money maybe you have the time. Check out volunteer opportunities in your community.

An international organization that delivers emergency aid and to people suffering from natural disasters or man-made crises.

We at Squidoo passionately believe in creating new ways to support good causes online. By making a donation to Action Against Hunger from this page, you are sending money directly to that organization, in whatever amount you want. We don't touch it. We don't even see it. The author of this page doesn't either. And if you made it this far, thanks for caring.

Non-Traditional Education

It's all in how you look at it

One is never too old to learn or can have too much education. There is something to be learned every day. The trick is to not be afraid to have your mind opened to new thoughts and ideas.

One great way to learn is through the perspective of others. Kids have a way of seeing things that we lose as we grow into adulthood. Watch something through the eyes of a child and try to remember your feelings as a child in a similar situation. I know there are new gadgets and gizmos out today as opposed to generations past. I know it may have been a long time since you were a kid; me too. Do not worry about that. Let your mind go and enjoy the experience. Then share that with the child, or adult, of your choosing.

100% Free Education Sites

What a wonderful, glorious thing this is; the great big world wide web. If you so desire you can learn just about anything and you can do this all for free! That is right; I said free. No, you can not count your internet service provider. You would have that anyway for email and online banking. Yes, you know it is all true. Besides, you can go to almost any public library and access the internet for free. Now you are catching on. Now let us discuss those sites, okay?

First there is Free-ed.net; a great free online learning resource. Free-ed offers courses ranging from the fundamentals of aerodynamics, to accounting and bookkeeping, to journalism 101, to Visual Basic and web page building. Just register and you are good to go!

Then there is EducationOnlineforComputers.com. This site offers training in Microsoft applications. Have you always wanted to know how those graphs were created in Excel? What about those great watermarks in Word? You can even learn how to create a newsletter in Publisher and your very own website in FrontPage. What is stopping you now?

Lastly I want to touch on a unique site. This site is unique in that it offers college courses. OEDB.org, online education database, offers 236 free colleges courses. Two Hundred Thirty-Six FREE college courses. If that did not make you sit up and take notice, then I do not know what will. It just does not get better than this! Just think, get a college education without the student loans. What a great idea!

There are plenty more sites out there for the Learning Mervin. I list a few more over on my blog (see my excerps below). Check it out. I also offer information on scholarships and other free resources.
