Defend Free Speech in Canada!
Canada's right to free speech is in peril, due to Section 13.1 of our so-called "human rights" charter. S. 13.1 sates:
13. (1) It is a discriminatory practice for a person or a group of persons acting in concert to communicate telephonically or to cause to be so communicated, repeatedly, in whole or in part by means of the facilities of a telecommunication undertaking within the legislative authority of Parliament, any matter that is likely to expose a person or persons to hatred or contempt by reason of the fact that person or those persons are identifiable on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination.
Likely. Did you read that? Likely means future-crime, thought-crime and anything that is intangible and cannot be proven.

Here's what I think
Canadians are pro-human rights, there's no denying that. But we are also entitled to the right to think, speak and act as we feel necessary, within the confines of tangible common law. Journalists and comedians - and PRIESTS! - should not be hauled in front of these Kangaroo tribunals for printing cartoons (Ezra Levant), counter-heckling a rowdy audience (Guy Earle) or preaching Leviticus (Rev. Stephen Boisson). Dragging Mark Steyn before the Court of Marsupial Magistrates because Ken Whyte of MacLean's Magazine refused to give in to Islamic extortion made a mockery of Canada.

Ready, set, debate
Islamic extremism is the fire in our theatre, and having people like Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant silenced for pointing that out is unethical and illegal. They should have the right to scream it from the rooftops, just as the radical imams have the right to preach death to the infidel. We don't have to like it, we simply have to allow it.
Fire in a crowded theatre
Freedom of speech does not extend to shouting fire in a crowded theatre.
If the theatre is burning, or you believe it to be so, you have the moral obligation to alert people, whether or not they want to hear it.
