Free downloadable books for Church book ministry/table

This is a link to various free books written by pastor and missionary David Cox. These books are in several formats, HTML to read online, PDF to download for personal reference, and pdf clickbook format. This format is properly formatted 2 pages "side by side" so that you can print out the book, photocopy it, and then staple it in the middle and make your own books. Doing this, you can produce books for your church or personal use for about the price of 20 photocopies. If you do this in mass, the price gets very cheap. I am the author, and I give my permission to you to do this. My only condition is to not alter it nor sell the copies you make. You may ask and receive donations to help cover your printing costs, but that is all.

Baptism for new Converts

Discipleship book in preparation or preparing for Water Baptism

9 Chapters:
(1) Obligation to be baptized.
(2) When?
(3) Requirements of Baptism?
(4) Significance and Mode of Baptism.
(5) Biblical Examples.
(6) Marks of a Biblical Church.
(7) Salvation.
(8) the Heresy of Baptismal Regeneration.
(9) Writing your Testimony.

Exerpts from the book:

Baptism is not necessary in order to be saved

(1) The thief on the cross was not baptized, but had the promise of Christ to be that very same day in paradise with Jesus.
(2) 1 Peter 3:21 - baptism is one way to express a good conscience towards God.
(3) Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
(4) Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Baptism is a public identification with and confession of Christ

Paul explained that there are two elements of the true salvation, the believing in your heart that Jesus raised from the dead for your sins, and the public confession of that same thing, that you have made Jesus your Lord of your life (the person who commands, this is your Savior).

Membership in a Biblical Church

If Jesus Christ himself urged us to identify ourselves with Christ as part of the redeemed, then another way of doing that is by identifying with the redeemed in a good local church. It is not enough to be as one of the unsaved that only attend the services of a church without becoming a member. You should seek to become a member of that church and participate completely with it in all its affairs.

The Problem with Tongues

A Sermon of why modern tongues are not biblical tongues. 8 pgs

Modern Tongues is not biblical tonguesThe Problem with Modern Tongues.pdf This is a brief 8 page booklet explaining why Modern Tongues is not Biblical tongues. It deals with why tongues have ceased, the cessation problem, as well as explaining Acts 2 and 1 Cor 14 differences in tongues. This sermon explains the connection between the modern Pentecostal movement and the ancient mystery religions, focusing on the cult of Aprodite, the goddess of love. It presents a focus for Pentecostals so that they can see that biblical tongues are not for us today, and even if they were, the focus and teaching of most Pentecostals is not what the Bible teaches about tongues.

I. What are Tongues? Here we define what the Bible teaches about tongues, and what is taught today.
II. The problem of Charismatic tongues. The modern teaching on tongues is just filled with many logicistical problems and unscriptural teaching.
III. Where did the Pentecostals get their understanding and teaching on tongues? This traces the roots of this movement back to the ancient mystery religions before the time of Christ in Corinth.
