How To Play

To play in a tournament you first must LOGIN. A player can log in with username GUEST and password GUEST to try the games but those players cannot win any prize money and can only play the FREE tournament. If you have registered you can log in with you username and password that way the scores can be posted to your name/account.

After you login you will see a Game Select page. You click on one of the games then you will see a Tournament Select list. This shows details on all the available tournaments for that game. Click on one of the lines. Select the tournament of your choice in the appropriate Skill Level group and that tournament will highlight. After the tournament is highlighted click on the Play button and the game will start.

You then begin playing the game. After the game is finished your score is automatically sent to our Game Server where it is compared to all the other scores of that tournament. You will then see the Tournament Standing page where you can see how your score ranks with the other scores in that tournament.

You then exit the Tournament Standings page and that will take you back to the Tournament Select page where you can enter the tournament again or enter a different tournament. At this point you can exit back to the Game Select page if you want to select a different game.

All Scores are kept in the database and a player can hold several positions in the Tournament Standings.

ALL games have free tournaments so new players should start out playing the FREE tournament until you learn you way around the games and the tournaments. After you understand the games and the tournaments you are ready to try your hand at some of the cash prize tournaments and use the some of the free $10 credits. After your free $10 credits are used up you can continue to play in the FREE tournament or you can purchase credits via a Credit Card, PayPal, Money Order, or Personal Check.

General Tournament Rules

There are currently 3 different styles of tournament at TG. Each style requires a slightly different strategy to be successful, so it is important that you understand the differences between them. The tournament styles differ mainly in how they end. The tournament styles apply to all games at TG, though they may not all be in use at one time for a given game.

LIMITED ENTRY TOURNAMENT

This style of tournament is very similar to the normal tournament. When the tournament ends all open enrties are given ample time to post their scores, but there is no pre-determined end time. Instead, each tournament has an entry limit. When that limit is reached the tournament is closed. For example, a tournament marked as ending at 36 entries will close as soon as the 36th game is started. No new entries are allowed in the tournament but all open entries are allowed to complete in a reasonable time.

TIMED TOURNAMENT

This style of tournament is the simplest. The Timed tournament ends at a pre-determined date and time. When the tournament ends no new entries are allowed on that tournament. Outstanding entries are given a reasonable time to report their score. The player with the highest score after the tournament has ended and all outstanding entries have reported (or expired) is the winner. All tournament times are US Central Standard Time.

SPRINT TOURNAMENT

This style of tournament does not have a pre-determined ending time or number of entries. Each sprint tournament has a target score or target level that must be reached to win. The first player to reach that target wins the tournament and the tournament ends. Any outstanding entries are rejected immediately. This is different from the other tournaments where each player is allowed to post their score within a reasonable period of time. Because of the nature of this style of tournament, it is often advantageous to quit a game as soon as you have reached the target rather than continuing to play for a higher score or level.
