This is a very useful resource. I am just reading a novel now of that time in France and it is very interesting to see how the nobility lived through this...those who survived of course.

  • LabKitty Oct 2, 2010 @ 3:15 pm | delete
Not to mention the revolution didn't work out so hot for Lavoisier. Why is it always us nerds who get whacked?
  • poddys Oct 2, 2010 @ 5:38 am | delete
Very nice resource. The French Revolution is fascinating. I have a CD of a 1970's musical on the French Revolution, by the people who later created Miss Saigon. It's a rare find, but great music.

VERY interesting lens...I have books written by Helen Maria Williams called Letters on the French Revolution printed 1792-95 they are old leather bound books. I found them in an Antique Store years ago, 3 out of the 4 volumes....
  • JoyfulPamela Jul 28, 2010 @ 7:45 am | delete
Wow ~ that sounds so cool! I love old books, especially leather bound. There's something special about a book that has stood the test of time. Being printed in the late 1700's, does it contain more eye - witness views of the revolution? I always think that it is more interesting and thought provoking to hear about a time from someone who has lived it as opposed to later writers who do their best to re-created from others writing.
  • mydunya Jul 10, 2010 @ 2:40 am | delete
It's rather long LENS, but most of it is marketing material. Maybe you should add some more useful content instead of selling stuff.
  • JoyfulPamela Jul 10, 2010 @ 6:09 am | delete
Mr. "mydunya" ~ Thank you for sharing your opinion. I'm sorry that you feel I am only trying to sell things. My goal is totally the opposite. Although I did not write an article about the history of the revolution, the "content" that I want to share with fellow educators is research sites for them and their students that I found to be helpful, webquests, games, videos, worksheets, and more - all of which are free to use - not marketing materials. As far as the books and videos from Amazon, as I have stated on other pages, I am a frequent visitor of the library and I encourage people to use their libraries to the fullest. also. When I see a book or other material picture listed on a site, it helps me to find that resource. Yes, it is nice to sell things, but I just wanted to use my research time to assist others to save them time. I believe that I have more of my goal content on the page than marketing. Thank you for stopping by, I hope you find what you are looking for. ~ Pamela
