HERE'S WHAT I THINK
Will Fuel Hit $4 per Gallon In 2008?
Yes
Sadly I think that by the end of the year the cost of gas will be more then $4 per gallon. Here in Cleveland it's about $3.20 to $3.45 and I know in other parts of the country it's a lot higher. I think that by Memorial Day fuel will be $3.75/gallon and continue to go up through out the summer. What do you think?

$4?? I think it will hit $5 by the end of the year! And those stimulus checks that the government is sending....they should be trying to lower gas prices instead.....we're all just going to use the check on gas anyway. Check out my gas lens....I don't want to repeat everything here!!!!!!!11 http://www.squidoo.com/gaspricessuck

Wildman says:
I hope it will. It is about time the US felt some pain for producing so many inefficient vehicles and having such a large carbon footprint. We have been paying $6/gallon for fuel for months now in Australia. The higher fuel prices go, the better. The more pressure there is to force R&D into renewable, sustainable technologies and efficient transport the better. It will also force old inefficient vehicles off the road and perhaps get more overweight and unfit people off their arses and back on bicycles or, heaven forbid, their feet. This will move shops back into smaller more personal local areas as people will no longer be prepared to drive for groceries and the huge chains will have to change their business model.
BTW: NOTE TO POLITICIANS. The use of food crops and land for fuel is not sustainable either!
Stop sooking about it and deal with it, even work with it, there are many many business opportunities created by this.

I don't beleive fuel prices will ever level off. Look at it this way though - in England fuel is nearly £5 per gallon (just under $10), so just count your blessings that fuel is sooo cheap in the US.
