Full HD TV Trends for 2010

Ranked #31,596 in Computers & Electronics, #583,587 overall

What to Expect in 2010

Just as with the fashion industry, the electronics industry has some trend predictions every year that tell the consumer what they should be looking forward too. While there are a number of other products in the market that are suitable to be ranked among top selling products, the Full HD TV has also made its mark in the electronic world. This makes these television sets much more popular and many people are wondering what they can see next in this particular area of television advancements. What kind of HDTV products will the consumers see by the end of this year?
One of the more popular products in this range are the flat panel LCD TVs which have established great popularity and will continue to become even more popular as the year goes by. This will probably result with the plasma screens becoming less popular since consumers will continue to take this technology to their homes. The many benefits of this technology over regular definition plasma screens have convinced most people that this is the future of television. Organic LEDs televisions (or OLED TV) are another favorite that might become even more popular in the future.
TV manufacturers are certainly in the limelight this year after the CES trade show which shows some fabulous designs and predicting some future trends. While experts predict that more of LED displays will be sold this year with their internet connectivity capabilities being an attractive feature, the HDTV resolutions will range even higher than the Full HDTV resolution of 1080p. Vendors will probably be moving on towards a resolution as high as 2160p. Initially though it may take a while before the expensive prices of this kind of HD television decreases to a reasonable and affordable amount.
The screen sizes will also be increased this year and the consumers will see bigger screens for their favorite HD and Full HD TVs, as well as the OLED TVs and Plasma screens. Bigger screens are definitely gaining much popularity and they will be a perfect way to actually judge the picture quality of the television set. Other features related to the HDTV picture quality like color vibrancy and color contrast will also be something the makers will continue to work on. They might even make the picture seem more and more realistic with all these changes.
The Blu-Ray Disc player is already a much talked about device which many people are switching to. This technology is no longer new and is perfect for use with HDTVs and Full HDTVs. There is a new specification of the Blu Ray player that the BDA (Blu Ray Disc Association) has come up with. This will also bring about a lot of activity in the HDTV market as well as the LCD, Plasma and even 3D TV niche. This is because only with this disc player is the true quality of motion pictures fully realized. When people invest in an HDTV they look for a TV set that they can play games or watch movies on with their friends and family. For this the result of the television screen and the accompanying disc player is very important.
Refresh rates of the HDTV sets will also be increased. While earlier there were some HDTV models that offered 50 and 60 Hz refresh rates, later on this went up to100Hz and 120Hz. Now though, this number will increase up to a total of 240 Hz which will make sports viewing and gaming even better. The first 240 Hz set has already been developed by Sony with a fifty two inch screen. Other models in the new Bravia XBR9 range also have six new versions of the HDTV which offer the same refresh rate.
