Lydia is my cousin and if I know any person that has the spirit to beat breast cancer, she is that person. I saw her several days ago and she looks really strong. Tony is also on top of the situation and deep down within me, I know Lydia will make it. All she needs is our help. I wish to thank all those that have come to her rescue. God bless you all.

Dear Lydia, "omumbejja" It was very sad to learn of the tragic illness you are struggling with. I pray that the Lord will restore your health and keep you close to Anthony and the little children. I wish you a quick recovery, yes you will recover - there are testimonies to that!!! Thanks for being such a wonderful lady. Good luck in the fundraise and help to other women.

Lydia & Tony, am truly sorry for what your are going thru, it is by no means easy, but take confort in the fact that the will of God can never take you where the Grace of God can not protect you ! you shall get throught this.
  • Lydia Bujara May 8, 2009 @ 3:50 am | delete
Dear Lydia, I am truly sorry. Please do not be afraid; hold on, and keep up the fight. It is most important for you to adopt the right kind of attitude from the beginning when facing cancer of any kind. If you value your life or the happiness of your loved ones at all, you must be brave right from the outset. Believe in whatever you have to believe in to enable yourself to recover; for me it was myself and the love and support of those around me. With the support and love of your family and friends, and the good will of God behind you, you can and will defeat the monster which has attempted to cloud and force you to question your future. If through all this, you feel alone at all, please write to me lbujara@aalassociates.net and give me your phone contact. I wanna talk to you and perhaps take an inch of loneliness you are feeling away. I am a breast cancer survivor and l live here in Kampala. God be with you and may He be merciful and gracious.

I have only met Lydia a couple of times, but she is a genrous warm person(and a little shy). She has been a great friend to my wife for many years, looking after her when she first went to uganda for a year as a naive 18 year old. We intend to travel out to uganda to see Lydia, Tony, Jesiah and Jemime as soon as we can.

I have had the privilege of working with Anthony and Lydia our friends in Uganda. I met Tony through Dr. Arinze Chianumba from the U.K. It was a great pleasure being at their wedding a few years ago. Just spoke with Lydia minutes ago and am truly grateful that the Lord is keeping her strong, despite the frustrations of dealing with the challenging medical limitations in Uganda. The prayers and love of your friends at Adonai Partners are with you, Lydia. You're not walking alone!

Great Lens. We work with women in Mameodi, South Africa. Most of the women do not have adequate access to health care and many times breast cancer goes undetected until it is too late. Good luck with your fundraising.
  • Cathryn Apr 20, 2009 @ 7:32 am | delete
Please do get involved in the sponsored walk, it should be a wonderful day out in aid of a fantastic person. Get your friends and family to come along too to make the day of it. please email fundinglydia@googlemail.com if you need more information.

This is a great lens and highlights a huge issue. Young people like Lydia, particularly when well educated, are such an investment for the future and are desparately needed by countries like Uganda. It is vital that she manages to get the treatment she needs and I wish you well in your campaign.
  • badmsm Apr 13, 2009 @ 5:43 pm | delete
Wonderful lens, I have worked with women in Uganda, too. Keep up the good work for Lydia. 5 stars and a Squid Angel blessing!

As a survivor of Breast Cancer I can say how much it means when so many people work so hard to raise money so that no one has to leave too soon because of this dreadful disease.

I wish you well in your fund raising, and my thoughts are with your friend Lydia.

    Excellent first lens too.... :)
  • Janusz Apr 13, 2009 @ 1:18 pm | delete
