Environment Matters.

If we dont care, who will?

Is this the society that we were supposed to inherit? Where is it leading us and what are the consequences? Some poignant questions are being asked today, what of the future; indeed do we have a future? A worrying thought, especially for those of us with children. So, what can we do and why should we care? There are hundreds of reasons why we should care because if we don't, who will?

We live in a consumer society, a society that uses a lot of resources, and it is inevitable that eventually most will run out. The by-products often cause pollution and all add to our carbon footprint. Old habits are hard to break and when so much money is being made by conglomerate corporations (the folks who are in power) from oil and gas it often seems a futile endeavour. Well, not so, every little helps.

How many things do we purchase that we don't need? How many things do we purchase simply because they make us feel good? I saw an excellent analogy on the TV, a set of scales with gold in one tray and the world in the other.... says a lot don't you think. Which would you choose? The environment matters, if we destroy it we destroy our home and of course 'ourselves'.

So what can we do about it?

So, how do we change our consumer lifestyle and take on 'green' habits to accommodate a new way of living in harmony with the environment, and why should we? Well, there are many ways that we can help to combat climate change, and many alternatives to fossil fuels that could save us a lot of money.
