Garmin-nuvi-205W-GPS

I bought this for my husband for christmas. And he apsolutly loves it. The features are great giving you options. And the download options are fantastic. It gives you your speed your fuel econamy and the speed limit. You can choose between driving in your car walking to the store or riding your bike. Plus day and night time images. There is so much to it.

My boyfriend and I got Magellan Roadmate 1412 for christmas gift. We already saw Garmin at the store and we already knew Garmin is what we want. So we decided since this Magellan was a gift so should give it a try. My opinion Magellan is not good. When we were driving and testing out the Magellan Roadmate 1412 and we could see many restaurant, gas store, food store and many icons clustered on the screen. We didn't ask for that to be there on the screen at all. If we want gas or food shopping simple go into selective to pick what destination to go to. Also, other cons about Magellan is some roads name won't show up on Magellan and some visible road is out there but not show on Magellan also. Also, when near to next turns on right or left the screen will go to split and show half of road and half of the turns where soon to turn. Also, Magellan don't have anti-theft security.

We decided to inform our relative who got that Magellan Roadmate 1412 for us for christmas to replace to Garmin Nuvi 205W which is on sale more less than Magellan. We are very satisified with Garmin because Garmin have anti-theft security, very simple and easy to use, don't have icons clustered like Magellan does, have speed odometer, will show speed limit on that road, won't turn to half on screen to show where to turn next like Magellan does, if you want to see where to turn next simple click on left top on Garmin then will show you. Overall, Garmin Nuvi 205W is very simple, easy, and very satisify!!!! We will buy Garmin again in the future and recommend this to our friends and family.

This is my first GPS. I did all the web research, reading reviews, checking out models at the local Best Buy, etc. I was tempted to get a higher model with more features (traffic updates, bluetooth, etc.), but I'm glad I got this basic model because I probably wouldn't use all those fancy features. Very easy to set up, just plug it in and turn it on.
It comes with a suction cup mount, Auto power adapter, and the device. I almost bought extra accessories (mounting bag, power adapter, case, etc.), but turns out it comes with most everything I need. I am still thinking about getting a case so I don't scratch the LCD when not in use, but $20 seems pricey. I might go buy a cheap digital camera case at Wal-mart for $5 instead. Also like the fact that you can use Google maps on your computer and send the location directly into the GPS so you don't have to key in the address (USB cable required for this feature - I used the one I had from my Blackberry).
