The Garmin Nuvi 260 is worth the slight cost increase over the Nuvi 200 simply for the text-to-speech feature. Aside from the fun you can have playing with the various voices and accents available to give you directions, the real advantage is that it announces the street names, which is invaluable for those of us who can't tell 300 feet from 50 feet when turning and constantly turn a block too soon. The street identification has eliminated "recalculating" the last block or two because my sense of distance is lousy. The points of interest and search capabilities are also the best, finding movie theaters, gas stations and anything else you can think of to find in the area. Definitely rate it a five star!

I can't say enough about this little GPS. I use it all the time with my job, and can honestly say, I don't know how I ever got around without it. It has just the right amount of features that you need, with none of the useless functions that drive up the price on more expensive models. Who needs a GPS to be an MP3 player too when you have an iPod, right? I think the most important feature to get, is the Text-to-Speech function. That's what makes the Garmin nuvi 260 a great buy. Also, if you're considering the 260w, I don't think the wider screen will be necessary. I haven't encountered a situation where I needed any extra visual space on the edges. In conclusion, I highly recommend this GPS. Gone are the days of printing out directions or pouring over an atlas when you inevitably deviate from those directions. You're never lost with a Garmin.

The Garmin nuvi 260 is an awesome gadget to have while traveling. I just bought this before leaving for a road trip. It was very accurate and easy to use. It gives turn by turn directions both on screen and verbally. *Please note if you change the voice, some voices will not verbally speak the street name to turn on, it will just say turn right/left in "X" feet. You can set it to bypass tolls, traffic, highways, etc. It has a lot of options for such a little price. I compared this model to many others and found that this was the best for the money I wanted to spend. I also shopped many other stores (online and retail) and found Amazon had the best price. I am very pleased with my purchase.
