Every once in a while, a guru appears
Garr is that guru. His work on the cutting edge of the intersection of presentations, communication and PowerPoint is a model for how anyone can have an industry. His hard work, clear writing and persuasive point of view have changed our world for the better.

Garr's book is literally a piece of work
Presentation Zen: Simple Ideas on Presentation Design and Delivery (Voices That Matter)
Amazon Price: $19.79 (as of 05/11/2008)
One of the most extraordinary books you'll find on any topic, this one happens to be about something we all can do better... presentations.
The one thing to remember about PowerPoint:
It's not a teleprompter.
If you are reading your slides,
you're doing it wrong.

I love his blog. It has opened my eyes to doing things differently - seeing that the way we have always done it, does not mean we have to continue that way, especially in the business world.

I greatly anticipate this book as a way to improve my presentations. Cliff Atkinson opened my eyes a few years ago and now I look forward to Garr's wisdom. It will also be interesting to see what this book does for istockphoto.com. Posted January 02, 2008 |
Been a fan of Garr and the PZ approach for a while. It's bang on. My colleagues consider me a presentation rockstar, thanks to him...and that was after about 5 minutes on his blog. So simple - so powerful.

I've read Garr's blog. He's soooooooooo right. Nothing more discouraging than looking out in a group and seeing people nod off.
