What determines Gas Prices?

We live in a world of natural laws. Like the law of gravity. Things fall to the earth; we can't change it. There are many natural laws. One natural law that is very pertinent to our present gas price situation is the law of supply and demand. If there is great demand for something, let's say rubber bands, the price of it will go up. The demand for rubber bands has been growing pretty steadily for many decades and just about everybody uses them. Fortunately, the makers of rubber bands have kept up with the demand by making more and more of them. The makers of rubber bands have been increasing the supply right along with the demand, and the price of rubber bands had remained very reasonable. ($0.99 per 100) Fortunately for comsumers of rubber bands, there are no laws preventing makers of rubber bands from making them. If there were, the price would go up.

The supply and demand for gasoline is very much like the supply and demand for rubber bands. Unfortunately, the makers of gasoline have been limited in increasing the supply by Congress. Liberals in congress restrict the supply of gas by not permitting drilling for oil, not permitting the building of new gas making factories (refineries) and not allowing alternative efficient sources of energy, such as nuclear.

To help increase the supply of gasoline, and thereby reduce the price, congress must allow drilling for oil, and new refineries.

Are there restrictions on the makers of Rubber bands?

Restrictions on the makers of rubber bands would cause the price to go up.

Basic rubber band propulsion device. Take aim and release pinky. Not responsible for misuse. There is energy stored in the stretched rubber band, just as there is energy stored in gasoline.

Congresspersons who consistently vote against low gas prices.

Are any of the following your representatives?

You'll notice that the following are all Democrats. If they were removed from office by electing their opponents, their negative votes would be replaced by more conservative ones, exploration, drilling and refining would increase, and the supply of oil and gas would increase, thereby lowering the price of gas. You can help lower gas prices by voting against these congresspersons, and campaigning against them.

The numbers following the congressperson's name are the district they represent, and the percentage of time they voted liberal and the percentage of time they voted conservative.

Not only do the Democrats restrict the supply of gasoline, thereby increasing the price, they are far more likely to increase taxes. This leads greatly reduced prosperity for all US citizens.

There is also a Republican Senator who is very liberal, even though he is a Republican. He's Lincoln Chafee, of Rhode Island. He needs to be opposed in primary elections, rather than a general election.

Nancy Pelosi's anti-prosperity pronouncement on the gas crisis:

Pelosi: "We can't drill our way out of this."

100 percent wrong, Ms. Pelosi. We can drill our way out. The US has been drilling its way to low gas prices for decades, until liberals in Congress placed restrictions on drilling, refining and nuclear power. I confess your stupidity has motivated me to select one of your least flattering portraits!
