Ranked #19,205 in Music, #585,178 overall

If You Want To Get Signed, Then Listen To Music Career Masters...

If you are like most new bands, you are probably chomping at the bit a getting signed to a major record label. However, with all the other noise out there, how are you ever going to get in front of the right people to get signed? There are many tips and tricks to help you do this. However, nobody really wants to spill the beans on how to get signed. Until now...

I found this great product called Music Career Masters and I wanted to write this review about it so you can learn more about it and what to expect.

I am a musician myself and this is an area near and dear to my heart. So if I was going to recommend this product, I wanted to make sure that it was absolutely solid first.

In a word...it is beyond what I expected.

Here is the breakdown of what you get in this massive package.

There are over 4 hours of video to watch. Here is what those videos cover.

Brand Creation - 32 minutes

Video goes over critical items for branding and asks 12 questions
that are used in coming up with your brand. These questions most
people wouldn't think to ask. Hint, if you want to get signed, you'll
need a brand.

Look Assessment And Styling - 17 minutes

Talks about how to go about styling yourself and how to get any
styling done, such as clothes and hair design for free. This is
an ingenius strategy. Also shows where to look for these services.
They even create the contact forms for you.

Fund Creation - 32 minutes

How go get backing. This is one of the most in depth sections
of the training. They go in complete detail how to get any
funding you need for your band's promotion. Also covers every
possible cost you will encounter.

This section also shows you exactly how to ask a club what you'll
get paid for a gig. The way they word these questions is pure
genius.

This section also goes over how often to do a gig and where. This
is very important to get right. It's called exposure.

And there is tons more in this section. Too much to go over here.

Fan Base Creation - 18 minutes

This section goes over how to go about creating a fan base and
it is very detailed. It goes over some avenues that many people
don't consider or know about. This section alone can help you
create a huge fan base before you even get signed.

Get Signed To A Record Label

Media Training - 23 minutes

Explains what it is and why you need it. This is an area where
most musicians are lacking simply because it's not their skill
set. This module does a great job covering this topic. Get this
right and you should nail any interview or anything dealing with
the media.

Business Sense - 21 minutes

This is one module where I'm sure most musicians will probably
admit that they are sorely lacking. This module alone is
probably worth the entire cost of the course because it will
save you from losing thousands in not hundreds of thousands
of dollars down the road.

Web Skills - 24 minutes

Another area where most musicians are probably lacking because
it's not their thing. This module gives you everything you
will need in order to have a web presence that will get the
job done.

Fliers and Press Packs - 36 minutes

This is one of the longest videos in the package and one
of the most important. There are also supplemental materials
with sample fliers and press packs so you will know exactly
how yours should look.

Digital Distibution - 11 minutes

Not a long module but it goes over in detail, how to distribute
your media digitally. Goes over what formats and how to get them
to your market. Again, good information to have if you want to get
signed.

Copyright - 17 minutes

This is another critical video. Without proper copyright, you
can easily get your material stolen. This module goes into
complete detail on how to get your songs copyrighted.

Touring - 18 minutes

This module goes over how to create tours. This is another
area where most musicians are clueless. They just want to
play their music and don't give this a second thought. As
this is one of the last videos, it's also one of the more
advanced. So it's important you watch these in order.

Festivals - 10 minutes

This is a short video but it'a s great one. This video
shows how to get booked to a festival and how to handle
the whole process with your fan base. This is critical
information for this very competitive avenue.

And then there is tons of bonus material including supporting
PDFs for each video.

Some of the bonuses:

The Indie Bible
The brand new 11th Edition of the Indie Bible contains:
- 4200 publications from around the world that will REVIEW your CD!
- 3400 radio stations from around the world will PLAY your songs!

There are also tutorials on how to market your music through sites like:

Facebook
YouTube
MySpace

And to be honest...this only scratches the surface.
The videos are all professionally produced. And what I like most about them is this. Along with the speaking, there are powerpoint slides so you can follow along and not have to worry about missing any words.

On a scale of 1 to 10, this product is a 9. No ifs ands or buts.

If you are serious about making it as a band or even solo artist, especially in today's competitive market, this course is a MUST have.

Here is the URL where you can check out what they have to offer.

Trust me...you won't be sorry.

Get Signed To A Record Label

If You Want To Get Signed, You'll Need A Brand

If you want to get signed to a record label, you'll need to know a little more about branding.

I think the best way to learn about branding is to look at bands who have come before you, or for that matter single artists.

Look at Elton John. Do you remember the Captain Fantastic era from the mid 70s? Remember how he completely changed his appearance with the wild clothes and the big glasses? This was probably one of Elton John's most memorable looks and it went over like gang busters.

That is branding.

But branding is more than just a look. And trust me, if you want to get signed you'll need a brand.

Take the Sex Pistols, one of the early punk rock bands. Their brand was their contempt for government and authority, which wasn't any more clear than in their song "God Save The Queen". The Sex Pistols were the epitome of the anti establishment band. They WERE punk rock.

Can YOU define and entire genre?

If you can, you have your ticket in the bag.

Look at Devo. If ever a band was ahead of its time in look and sound, they were it.

And the brilliant thing about Devo is that their look and sound went together. Their anti human look was complimented by an almost robotic musical style.

Look at Kiss. Their makeup was as much of who they were as their music...maybe more so.

All these things are part of branding...what made these bands and artists unique.

What makes YOU unique?

That's the question you should be asking yourself.

More Tips To Help You Get Signed

I'm going to go over the basic things that record labels look for in a band. If you want to get signed, please make note of these.

1. Uniqueness - Your band has to be unique. There are plenty of "me too" acts out there and they all end up getting lost in the soup. You need to stand out. So sit down and make a list of all the things that make your band unique. Maybe your lead singer has a 5 octave range. Maybe you're all bald or all wear thick glasses. Maybe your drummer plays a 3 piece set and makes it sound like 7 pieces. Find what makes you unique.

2. Musicianship - The days of Milli Vanilli are over. You MUST be good. You have to be able to really play your instruments and play them well. Your lead singer has to be better than good. He has to have a killer voice. I'm not saying you have to be Keith Emerson on keyboards, but you better be able to show that you're an accomplished musician...all of you.

3. Band Dynamics - How well does the band play together? Do you compliment each other or does somebody stick out like a sore thumb. You have to sound like a unit, not like a bunch of people playing together.

4. Showmanship - Like it or not, you can't just stand there like a lump when you perform. A label is interested in more than just a studio sound. These days, you have to look the part as well. That means, when you perform, it has to be as visually exciting as it is musically.

5. Following - They simply can't take chances on unknowns...not anymore. There is too much money involved in this business. So you have to have an established following.

Fortunately, there is a great resource that will help you in these areas.
