Getting Enough Exercise Motivation

There are a number of different ways for you to lose weight but aside from diet, exercise is one that should be done regularly in order to see consistent results.  Unfortunately, very few of us have the exercise motivation needed to really light a fire underneath us and get us moving.

That is truly unfortunate, as many people live a life of obesity whenever a little bit of exercise would go a long way in helping them to overcome that obesity, even if it did so very slowly.  Far too many individuals try to lose weight very quickly and it generally has a rebound effect that makes them end up heavier than when they first started out.

Even though there are many reasons why exercise is important, one that is paramount is because of your metabolism.  If you get the metabolism running properly through exercise, you will be burning additional calories, 24 hours out of every day.  The easiest way to accomplish this is through weightlifting, but many individuals who are trying to lose weight neglect this.

Weight lifting works well because of the fact that you are adding muscle to your body.  Muscle really adds up to calorie burning and whenever you're adding lean muscle mass, you are burning the equivalent of 60 calories every day per pound of lean muscle.  This really adds up over the course of time and you may be able to see weight loss, even if you don't change the way that you are eating all that much.

Another type of exercise which can work wonders for the body is cardiovascular exercise.  This is typically done on one of the exercise machines at the gym, such as the treadmill or the elliptical trainer.  While you are training on one of these machines, your metabolic rate is going to be elevated and you will be burning additional calories.  The real secret, however, comes in the form of exercise that keeps your metabolism running strong for the rest of the day.

High-intensity interval training is something that can not only boost your metabolism whenever you're working on the machines, it can keep it running strong for the rest of the day.  The way it is done is that you go for one interval of time, typically a minute at 100% of your efforts.  You would then slow down and tell an additional one or two minutes at a slower pace.  Continue to cycle your way through this until 30 or 60 minutes has expired.  It makes a difference very quickly in the way that you look.

One of the best exercise motivation techniques that there is out there is to simply get out and exercise for a while and the results will speak for themselves.  Once you begin to see the fat melt away from your body, you will wonder what took you so long to start in the first place.  You will also have additional energy, which will keep you coming back for more.
