- I applied for March end and was denied. I am continuing to update my lenses and will even build a few more and hope and pray to be accepted when I reapply this quarter.

- This is a good reminder of what a Giant Squid is. I plan on polishing up all my lenses after the challenge and looking for similar lenses to lensroll and feature. I can't wait to see all of my lenses shine. I have some work to do on some of mine.

- Being a giant squid is a goal of mine for this year. I don't aim to make it for the next round as I've just got 30 lenses, but I've definitely got my eye on this prize. Thanks for all the tips!

- I'm working hard so I can apply next time they are looking for giant squids. I currently have I think 38 lenses, but do not feel that all are "Squid Giant" worthy at the minute. I am working hard to build lenses that are helpful to the Squidoo community. I love this site and want to make sure everyone else learns how to make the most of it. Thanks for a great lens!

- I'll go for it now, I'm proud of my lenses, and hope I make it in this exclusive lensmaster club. If not, then I'll keep plugging away until my lenses are worthy. Thanks for the info.

- Thank you for your mentoring help JaguarJulie! I do mention that we've raised the bar and that we are now accepting applications every 3 months in my intro.
We don't have a set number of Giant spots available. Anyone who meets or exceeds the new stricter guidelines will be given Giant status.

- Terrific and helpful lens. As I have been 'mentoring' a number of hopeful Giant Squids [for the previous qualifying period] and onward, it might also help to state just how many are considered and that it is difficult to make this 'elite' group, but to not be deterred as there is always next time! ;)

- I don't see myself working to become a Giant Squid in the short term. But, I think the information you have presented here is valuable for anyone wanting to produce top quality lenses, and to be a good citizen of Squidoo. Thanks!

- Excellent list for keeping inline for a Giant appointment! The only other thing I can think of is, would there ever been too much selling in a lens? Some I have looked at seem to be nothing but that.

- This is very helpful! Thanks.
Question. When you say a photo in the intro module does that mean literally a photo or can it be a graphic picture? Dumb question, I know, but I just want to make sure.

- To me if you like someone you will pursue that person and you will do everything to win her hearts. You will not give the 2nd best or the 3rd but the very best to that person. So, when someone creates lens, he/she will not do it half hearted but will accomplish what he/she had desire and purpose in his/her heart to finish it to the utmost abilities. It needs passions, persistent, the joy, willing to learn and be teachable. Thanks for sharing :).

- This is a great summary. I hadn't seen such a clear page about what distinguishes giant lenses from ordinary ones. Thanks.
One thing I think you should look for is consistency in the lens. I've seen some lenses where the main subject is hardly talked about, for some reason the lensmaster spins off to promote their totally unrelated products instead.
