Giant Squid Treasure Hunt

The contest starts today and ends on Friday August 29th at 5pm EST.

We've come up with 100 treasure hunt items to find within the site. Well, they're more like clues. Find a lens that matches each clue, to the best of your personal interpretation. But here's the trick: the lenses you find must be from people who are NOT already Giants. We're looking for "Potential Giants." People who you think have the right stuff to make it as a Giant Squid. It doesn't matter if the lens is from a person who has 1 lens or 40 lenses, just as long as their lenses are really great, and the person is not already a Giant. No other editorial guidelines. You'll know a great lens when you see it.

Email your entries to gianthunting @ Squidoo.com by Friday August 29th at 5pm EST. Match each lens URL with the clue it's answering.

We've got 3 prizes to give away. Your entry from above reserves your place in the prize lottery for each tier.

Third Place: - Find 20 Potential Giant lenses on the list and you'll be entered to win a Flickr Pro Account for 1 year. (And if you've already got one, we'll send cash instead, to you or your favorite charity).

Second Place: - Find 50 Potential Giant Lenses on the list and you'll be entered to win $40 at iTunes. (That's 40 free songs!)

FIRST PLACE! - Find 75 Potential Giant lenses from the list of clues, and you'll be entered to win a shiny new 2 Gig iPod shuffle.

*If you find 20 PG's you'll be entered into the Third Place lottery; find 50 PG's and you'll be entered into Third Place AND Second Place, find 75 PG's and you'll be entered into all three prize levels.

Of course you also get plenty of bragging rights too. And a good excuse to go adventuring and discover some amazing new lenses along the way.
