Candy Corn Tricks and Pumpkin Treats

Halloween Decor and Party Ideas

Candy Corn Tricks:

  • Use extra candy corn to place in gel candle kits.

  • Place in decorative jars or potion bottles.

  • Hide them around the house or use as trails for party games (make sure you find them all, or you'll have some uninvited creepy guests in a few weeks...)

  • String to, or glue on garland.

  • Stick through the top of straight, long wire to use in floral arrangements.

  • Use as garnish in cocktails, on cupcakes, or cookies.

For a wreath:
- Foam wreath
- Bag of candy corn
- glue
- clear glitter
- trimmings

Glue candy corn in a single row on a foam wreath. Lightly glaze candy corn with thin layer of glue, and sprinkle clear glitter on top. Trim with black roses, lace, velvet, plastic spiders, spider webbing, etc. A small skull head always fits well placed on the inside circle of the wreath. :-)

Pumpkin Treats:

  • Save seeds for candy and brittle recipes.

  • Use small pumpkins as soup or punch bowls. Just cut off the top and scoop out the insides.

  • Arrange pumpkin candies (sugared and gummy) in a large pumpkin-shaped dish or potion bottles.

  • Add pumpkin spice creamer to your coffee; top with whipped cream.

Easy Halloween Party Projects

Halloween Party Ideas, Decorations, and Crafts

Spider Room Centerpiece
- Spray paint a large foam ball black and/or cover with glitter. Paint large eyes.
- Attach 8 long feather boas from the center.
- Hang the ends in corners of room; tape up middle of legs to make spider appear as crawling overhead.
- Outline an hourglass figure with glue and use red glitter for adding an easy sparkle to your room.

Floating Ghosts
- Blow up white balloons to use for head. Make sure the end is pointing up.
- Drape tattered, torn cheesecloth over the balloon and cut a hole for the end. Also cut out eyes.
- Hang ghost up easily by the end, tying to clear string to adjust length if needed.

Spider Web Chandelier
- Create an easy frame by bending together hangers or thick floral wire.
- Tie spider-webbing appropriately to all points, leaving some hanging down for added effect.
- Attach a few plastic spiders on web, or hanging down from frame.

Paper Mache Heads
- Paper mache over various sized balloons, leaving a few inches on the bottom to prop heads up later.
- Cut out eye holes, mouth, etc.
- Paint head, use wigs, fake blood, etc. to decorate.
- Good indoor centerpiece, or scatter all over lawn. :-)

Other simple project ideas
* Make coffins out of cardboard boxes.
* Roll up newspaper into bone shapes, tape together and spray paint.
* Create black roses out of tissue paper and wire
* Piece together fun or scary collages from magazines and photos to frame.
* Paint and decorate foam pumpkins and skulls.
* Make Halloween masks from craft mold, paint, and decorate to suit.
