2009 Cookie Warning

In 2009, a news organizations was reporting the FDA warnings regarding Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter paste. Several companies during this time pulled products off the shelves because they were using the company that was involved in an investigation regarding the salmonella outbreaks associated with tainted peanut butter.

Girl Scouts of the USA...

Girl Scouts of the USA issued a statement in 2009 that Girl Scout cookies were not affected by the warning. This is a quote from their website: "Neither licensed baker affiliated with Girl Scout® Cookies: ABC Interbake and Little Brownie Bakers source their peanut butter from the supplier involved in the current peanut butter warning."     I hope sales haven't been hurt by the peanut butter issue. Nice start; it would be great to read a bit of background on how important the sales are to Girl Scouts.
