Princess Hair

So you have a little princess, and you need the prefect hair do? There are countless styles that are fit for a princess. Here are a few...

Princess hair for long hair.

Long hair, mid-back and longer.

Long hair is great for Princess costumes as with most princesses you see have quite long hair.

Your best bet is to go with something curly.

The Long Curly Princess Hair Look

So here how to do "The Long Curly Princess Hair Look" a very wispy and elegant hairstyle.

What you'll need:

a small barrel curling tong
CHI Silk Infusion or product of choice
small elastic band
hair accessories of choice

*If you don't have what you need or are looking for a more natural way, fallow the links below for alternative methods.

Directions:

Start with clean, neatly combed, dry hair.

Apply your product from the mid-lengths to the ends of her hair first, then work the rest in near her roots.

Start from the front of one side of her head. Take a section of her hair, a little less than an inch will do. Starting at the ends wrap the hair around the tong half way up the length of her hair. Depending on the amount of hair it should only take about 3 to 5 seconds to set in the curl. When you release the hair, it should give you this elegant wispy curl. Continue this around her head.

Once you have finished curling loosen and separate the curls with your fingers to give it a more natural look.

Next pull about an inch and a half of her hair from either sides of her temples and secure it on the crown of her head with a small elastic band.

Now is time for her princess hair accessories! I suggest using small flower jaw clips covering up the elastic and any imperfections. Spray glitter is another great way to finish this look.

Disney Princess

How to get the right look for the right Princess.

With all the Disney Princess there are you little one will be sure to want to be one of them. Here I "will" have a list of the Princess and how to pull off the hair dos.

Snow White

The ideal hair for this look would be black wavy hair that is about shoulder length.

For short to shoulder length hair start with clean, brushed, damp hair. Section off about an inch of hair from around the face and get "Snow White" to hold it or fasten it with a clip or band. Now with a comb start to comb the rest of the hair straight back into a low pony tail. Place the headband or tie the ribbon around the crease in her hair. (Don't have the ribbon? Order one now, below. Or you can check out your nearest dollar store for a great deal. Remember Snow White's head piece is red with a bow on the top.) Once the bow is in place you'll want to work on the waves. Snow White has three rows of waves in her hair. Divide the hair into three sections. So with your iron warming up gather the hair from one side of her head including the bangs that are on the other side of the hair piece. And clap the hair with the iron about an inch above her ear. Hold for just a few seconds. (if using hair spray now is the time to start spraying.) When you release the iron slide down to just below the wave you just made and clap again. You'll want to do this one more time, making sure to get all the hair underneath in the wave. Now continue around the head. When you start the wave do not do it at the same level as the finished section you'll want to start slightly above the finished section. If you are using hairspray make sure you get all of the hair. And remember if its not perfect the color of the costume will help disguise any faults.

Cinderella

The ideal hair for this look would be straight red hair shoulder length or slightly longer.

This hair do isn't too hard to pull off.

First gather Cinderella's hair on the crown of her head. Leaving about an inch tick of a section around the nape of her neck this will later be used to give it the smooth look. Put the hair you gathered in a pony but not pulling the hair all the way through on the last loop through. Pull just until the ends of the hairs are sticking out. Now with the loop pin it down on the top of the head from underneath, remember little ones are active so put more than enough. Once down with that comb the hair from the nail of the neck nice and straight as you pull it on top of her head. Wrap the heir over the loop on top of her head and pin it under the loop or you can pin it down where the headband will go. The last few touches would you curling her bangs under and adding the headband. If your using hairspray make sure you put it on thick so it will stay. I'd say the best finishing touch you could do is to act as if your the fairy godmother changing her into her princess out fit as you dust her with glitter!

Bibbity-Bobbity-Boo!
I will have ho to pics up soon so you can see how easy this is.

Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty

The ideal hair for this look would be blond long wavy or straight hair.

Little Ninja, Hiding Hair

How to hide your childs hair neatly under hooded costumes.

There are a few ways you can hide that hair. For short hair some good hairspray and a few bobby pins will do the trick just fine. But when it comes to longer hair a flat bun or a few braids wrapped around the head or to the back of the head maybe what you want. You can top that with a light bandanna. Remember it can get pretty hot under those hooded costumes. Another options would be to have the hair tail out in a low ponytail or in a braid. Think of Princess Kitana from Mortal Kombat.
