Globes For Kids - Their Own Reviews

More than a Globe now....
Globes for Kids are both educational and fun. If you are as bad as me at geography (not my strongest subject) then the parent is actually educated at the same time.
With his V Tech Globe my 4 year old can now find where his Grandma and Grandad live now in the UK, where we live and most of the places that his Dad and me have travelled.
With his Leapfrog Globe Harry knows the distance that his Grandma and Grandad have to travel to come and see us. He also knows the number of people who live in the UK compared to Australia and the population of lots of other places.
V Tech Globe
Sam has the V Tech Globe - it was passed down from his older brother who has now advanced to the next level.
The V Tech Globe is a good starter globe. It shows where certain animals come from, like Kangaroo's from Australia etc. It asks you questions, where to find countries etc and it has a handle on it that does the impression that your child is flying to all the different countries. This is a great feature.

I know that there are mixed opinions on whether a child should have educational toys at home. Some parents believe it's pushing a child too hard, where others believe there are many benefits.

I believe the most important education a child gets is at home. It is the parent's place in a child's life to educate.

You can't push kids too far these days. They are born with a lot more willingness to learn than we once gave them credit for. Its great that we are waking up to that fact.

Oh, there is so much children can and do learn before they go to school! Most teachers are aware that a child's home life before they ever come to Kindergarten can make a big difference in their learning ability!

Many children don't go to school and rely on parents (who often have no training) to teach them how to explore the world and the possibilities open to them. I believe every toy should be educational

Educational toys can be fun for children and sometimes even better because there is no classroom pressure. I will highly recommend toys at www.toysandstuff.net

No, they get educated enough at school.
Leapfrog Globe

The Leapfrog Globe that Harry got for his birthday this year was a great buy. It's got lots of features. It asks you questions on finding the capital's etc. It gives you lots of information about different countries, i.e. population, currency etc. It tells you how apart countries which you select are from each other.
It's very educational and I am sure this year as he starts Grade 1 it will get lots of use.
Leapfrog Explorer Smart Globe
Harry Loves his.....
It includes a quiz for your child called eureka with lots of different options - it asks about countries, currency, etc.
It also includes a multi player game where up to 4 players can take part.
It comes as no surprise to me to learn that this globe has won 6 awards.
The recommended age is 8 years, but Harry got his when he had just turned 6 and loved it.

- I think it depends on the individual child. The globes for little ones are fabulous, and if a child is ready and interested at 2 years old, that's great. If not, it's also okay to wait until he's older.

- Well, my 10 month old would love the buttons and the spinning globe, my 3-year-old would probably learn things from it and enjoy it, my 5-year-old would enjoy it all day long, and my 10-year-old would love the facts..... so, ALL AGES!

- Hi, I teach kids and I'd say that from age 5 children could have an interest in a globe if it was like a toy and colorful. From about age 6 I think most kids can start to learn about the world and geography. This is a great lens. It had never occured to me how much kids like globes! But it's true! When I was a kid I loved my globe and would look at it for hours on end.

- Great lens! I need that Leapfrog globe for myself. I'm horrible at world geography (especially Africa). Sounds like it would be the perfect way to learn all kinds of great facts.

- This is a totally cool lens. A globe is an excellent educational gift for a child. When my kids were young, once a week one child had the turn of picking a spot on the globe. I would cook something from that place and each night before bed we would take turns reading about it. The kids now have children of their own and have carried on this fun way of learning geography and tolerance for other cultures.
A well deserved thumbs up and I have lensrolled you to my Stephen Joseph kids lens.

- Well, I didn't realise what a fabulous range of globes there are, so when my son was 7 years old, and moved from Holland to England, we got him a fairly ordinary (but nice) medium-sized globe so that he could see where he'd moved from and to, and where we were all living in relation to each other. He loved it! Great lens! Blessed. :)
