Eating your protein first will NOT cause your insulin to spike like with eating carbohydrates. Your blood sugar is normalized -- put to a normal level -- and there is no 'spiking' of your blood sugar if the protein is consumed first.
When eating carbohydrates as the first thing you consume when sitting down to eat, your body begins to automatically store fat cells due to the spike in insulin. Eating protein first will make the insulin effect negligible.
