God of War III

God of War III is a single player action game, exclusive to the PlayStation 3, and the final installment of the God of War trilogy. Containing signature and addictive God of War gameplay - a combination of over-the-top action combat, exploration and puzzle-solving - along with an engrossing mythologically inspired storyline and a selection of new weapons and a new weapons system, it is a fitting conclusion to the much praised God of War franchise.

Story and Gameplay

God of War III allows players on the PlayStation 3 to take on the climatic role of the ex-Spartan warrior, Kratos, as he treads through the intimidating heights of Mt. Olympus and the dark depths of Hades once more to seek revenge on those who have betrayed him. Armed with double-chained blades, as well a selection of new weapons, Kratos must take on mythology's darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles throughout his merciless quest to destroy Olympus and the mighty Zeus himself.

The much anticipated console game, God of War 3 has finally arrived much to the delight of eagerly awaiting fans of the action genre. The game was officially released on the tenth of March to much fanfare.

In terms of the story, it continues where the story ended in the previous installment, God of War 2. You play the role of Kratos, a former champion of the gods that attained godhood at the expense of the former god of war, Ares.

God of War 3 sees you continuing your desire to destroy Zeus. But this time, you are not alone. With the threads of fate, you have brought along with the once defeated titans. And leading them, is Gaia. This is where you start your journey, on the living world, Gaia.

In terms of the way the game plays, it is very much similar to the two previous installments on the PlayStation 2. Over the top gore and action is the primary theme all parts of the series, not just God of War 3. The story is well fleshed out with similarly challenging tasks ahead of you.

Your weapons of choice, Athena's blades, are still made available in the beginning. However, they undergo a name change to the Blades of Exile. It's the same weapon with a different name. A big change to this game is the variety of weapons now available to Kratos.

The games received very favorable reviews from both the fans and critics. The average score it received from reviews fall in the ninety percent range. Needless to say, Sony has another bestseller on its hands with fans lapping it up. Already, there are videos on YouTube with the popular battles that Kratos undergoes in the game.

All the old battle combos are still present with the addition of some new ones. Overall, the God of War 3 is still great fun despite it being largely the same as parts one and two. But why mess with a good formula? The game still delivers a solid story along with the much vaunted action play that this series is famous for.

The title alone should tell you what type of music is in this soundtrack. There are 7 songs by bands like Killswitch Engage and Opeth. I personally enjoy them and will post a couple on here.

The other music bonus is the game trillogy soundtrack for the 3 God of Wars.

                

God of War 3 Release - The Best Yet?

God of War 3 (also known as GOW3) is the fifth game in the series, and will be released on the PS3 in 2010. This God of War 3 release will once again be as graphic and adult-oriented as the past games, so a word of warning if you've never played GOW game before and you're thinking about getting this God of War 3 release. Part of the reason for this is due to some of the violent things that you can do, such as literally tearing of the heads of your enemies without a second thought.

The game is set in the era of Greeks and Persians (think of the movie '300' and you're on the right track) where there are huge battles going on between the Greek gods. The game is very heavy on Greek mythology, and characters such as Helios and Kratos make appearances and are key to the story.

Since the game is about fighting, you'll be taking on a lot of different enemies, usually all at once. The God of War 3 release promises to boast the
most on-screen enemies ever - a whopping 50. Needless to say this has got people quite excited and salivating at the prospect. This is mainly down to the PlayStation 3's vastly superior power over the PlayStation 2 (which most of the previous GOW games were released on), so the system can handle a lot more
on-screen action at once.

In addition to this there will also be a much bigger selection of weapons for you to kill your enemies with. There's a real sense that Sony (the game's creators) have taken the series on a step further, and are really looking to create something special here. Early screenshots have been released and the game is looking absolutely stunning.
