The Gold Coast Titans Rugby League Football Club
The Gold Coast Titans are a rugby league club based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. They are the third Queensland team in the NRL after the Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys.
The Gold Coast entered the National Rugby League competition in 2007.
Also called the Jetstar Titans after a major sponsorship deal.
The Gold Coast wear the colours of gold, blue and white.
Rugby League is very popular in Queensland and the three Queensland teams boast the biggest gate attendances of the NRL
Gold Coast Titans
The Titans are based on the Gold Coast in Queensland. They are the latest team to join the National Rugby League Premiership making up the sixteen teams in the competition.2007
The Titans joined the competition in March 2007. Their first victory was over the Parramatta Eels 22-10 in a trial match.
In their first official match in the NRL, they lost 20-18 to St. George Dragons and then won the second match 18-16 over the Cronulla Sharks at home.
They finished 12th on the ladder in their first season with 10 wins and 14 losses.
2008
In 2008 the Gold Coast Titans played for the first time at their new stadium Skilled Park. They won 36-18 over the North Queensland Cowboys.
Finished the season in 13th position on the ladder.
Titans Latest News
The Titans finished 3rd on the table at the end of the season but had a disappointing finals series. They lost the first match to Brisbane, and then the second to the Parramatta Eels. They now have to look forward to next season.
