1st Golf Iron Tip
Stay Within Yourself
Don`t try and hit your 7 iron 170 yards when your best 7 Iron Shot only goes 150 yards. Hit a iron that will get to the target with a comfortable swing, no overswinging! Also, when you're deciding on the yardage for your iron shot, be sure to take into account the position of the pin on the green. By this I mean, even though you are standing at the 150 marker, you might be 165 yards to the pin if the pin is at the back of a large green, or 135 yards if the pin is in the front. You don`t want to back off of your swing but you also don`t want to be straining either! For More Golf Iron Tips Visit www.Improve-YourGolf.com

Know How Far You Can Hit Each Iron
I know you've seen this and it really slows down play. What I'm talking about is watching somebody pacing off their yardage to the pin knowing they havn't a clue as to how far they hit each iron. So, we need to spend some time at the driving range to find out how far we hit each iron. Now, we're probably not going to know exactly how far each iron goes, like the tour pros do, but we can find out within a 3 or 4 yard range. There is nothing more aggravating than hitting a great drive and following it up with a well hit golf iron shot and the ball ends up 10-12 yards off. If we expect to hit a effective iron shot, we need to know how far we can hit each iron. 3rd Golf Iron Tip
Play A Shot Your Lie Will Allow
We need to study our lie and find out how the lie is going to effect our shot. By this I mean, if we're playing summer rules, with no preferred lies, the lie will dictate what kind of a shot we have to play. If our lie is not so great, we need to aline where we play the ball in our stance. With a bad lie, we need to spot the ball further back in our stance so that we will be able to make solid contact. You also need to aline for downhill, uphill and sidehill lies.Basicly, we need to aline our stance to follow the contour of the fairway for uneven lies. Keep in mind that uphill lies will add loft to your golf iron shots (hit more club) and downhill will take loft off of our iron shots (hit less club).

4th And Final Golf Iron Tip
Play The Percentages
Here's a question for you. If the Pros aim away from some pins then should'nt we follow suit? If the pin is on the side of the green near a bunker, water hazard or out of bounds, it may make sense not to try to and hit directly at the pin but hit your iron shot to a safer part of the green. We have to evaluate the percentages and our chances of pulling off a shot. That's how the Pros do it! So, next time you are getting ready to hit your golf iron shot, stop and think of what your best percentage play is. That, by it self, will have an extremely postive effect on your score. Extra Iron Shot Tip
Also...
Also, remember there is a right and wrong side of the green to miss on. You would prefer to miss the green on the side away from where the pin is located on the green. This gives you the best chance to get up and down for your par if you happen to miss the green. These are your top 4 Golf Iron Tips. Follow these Golf Iron Tips and you will significantly increase your pars and decrease those B's and double B's!
