I had been looking for a great fantasy to take with me on holiday...on squidoo I found Stellar Wind 2012. It was fun, scary, I learned about Mayan prophesies, I enjoyed the love story and hated the demon Morag. The book was clever and it left me with something...I like that.

Nice Lens. I'll have to check out some of your recommendations.

Here's some I think are tops... Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. Both are dense and massive and as yet unfinished. Begin them at your peril... they'll suck you into another world.

I love that Discworld is at the top of the list. I can always go back to that series when I need something fun and relaxing to read. It's a great way to cheer up! * * * * *

I had to learn to read Fantasy novels for/with my boys...I never read them before that. I must say that most simply still do not interest me still. Hopefully your lens will give some Fantasy readers another great book to pursue. Blessed!

Discworld!!!! I've never laughed harder and read anything so voraciously as I did (and do) those books. I thing you should review something by Lackey or even Lawrence Watt Evans (love him immensely) but amd a total Lackey fan. Maybe The Last Herald Mage trilogy. . . Just a thought!

Can't wait to get to "Small Favor". I am just finishing book 6. Nice to know it gets better.

I fell in love with Stephen King's Dark Tower series, I loved the liberties he took with characters (including himself) and the images of the many worlds. I also highly recommend Clive Barker Imajica.

Yay, another fantasy reader. ;) I had to add Louis McMaster Bujold to your list, though it's her sci-fi series that I love best. Anyone who enjoys main characters with lots of personality and fun adventure stories should check out her Vorkosigan series.

Great lens! I've never been much of a fantasy reader, but I love Terry Pratchett's books. Same goes for sci-fi, yet I love Douglas Adams! Just add comedy and I'm there :-)

Interesting reviews. I have heard a lot about Ender's Game but the others are new to me. Well, I have seen a TV episode or two of the Dresden Files series based on the novels. Thanks for the recommendations. Have you read the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn Trilogy by Tad Williams? It is brilliant. After Tolkien's Lord of the Rings it is my favorite fantasy trilogy.

Great Job! I love to read but I don't read a lot of true fantasy. I picked up Small Favor a week ago planning on reviewing it for The Weekend Reader, but I haven't had a chance to get to it. I'll move it up on the priority list now.
5 stars and a lensroll to The Weekend Reader
