Picasa 3.6 is a software application for organising and editing digital photos, originally created by Idealab and now owned by Google. "Picasa" is a blend of the name of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, the phrase mi casa for "my house," and "pic" for pictures (personalised art). In July 2004, Google acquired Picasa and began offering Picasa for free download.
I am simply amazed that a package that is so advanced is free: I guess that is a reflection of the Google business philosophy; grow users and expose them to future sales opportunities.

Introducing Picasa 3.6
Picasa is now available in 38 languages! The Google Team has also added a new sharing option for Picasa Web Albums, giving more control over who can view the contents. Also a new "Sign-in to view" option to share albums with specific users only.

Picasa 3.5 is very, very good! The BEST free image editing, storing and manipulation software. However, if you want to use something else, there are many on the market.
Some free. Some costly.
Picajet is possibly the next best option: it was certainly my preferred option.
Picajet is a powerful, feature-rich, but highly customizable and convenient digital photo management and image database software that will efficiently organize your fast-growing digital image collection.
Not my FIRST choice, but very, very good nonetheless. One thing that Picajet does very well is provide excellent support.
