Here are a Few Simple Ways That You Can Get Traffic to Your Site...
So, you have a great website? Or have just signed up to an affiliate program? But have been left in the dark when it comes to getting viewers/hits to your site?
I have done it myself. I get really excited about a website idea and fail to take into account what it is going to take to get it in the limelight. You may have the best site in the world, but unfortunately it is highly unlikely that traffic will naturally gravitate to it, you are going to have to 'advertise' it. Bear in mind, I am using 'advertise' loosely, before you all clam up and leave this page. But, if no-one knows that your site exists, it is not going to be much use!
There are a few simple ways to get some traffic to your site, and they do not take long to set up. You may even have accounts with the websites that I am going to mention to aid you in your quest! If not you can easily set them up for free!
Facebook Your Site!!
If you haven't heard of Facebook you should be ashamed!! Only joking. Facebook is a 150M user social networking site. If you do not have a Facebook account you can sign up for one free here! Before you start worrying about your site on Facebook, if you have only just joined, it is time to take a trip down memory lane. Search for all of the people you know, with 150M people on the site, I would expect there to be quite a few. When you have added a few friends, check their lists of friends and add some more that you know.
Basically, what you have just done is create a network.. If you change your status and tell everyone about your site, you can add a link to it... Simply type in http://yourwebsite.com. This link will now be visible to your friends and also their friends too, so hopefully a few hits will be coming your way :)
Get a Twitter Account and Tweet your site out into the open.
Imagine Twitter as a simplified version of Facebook, but due to its simplicity there is less reason to worry about information sharing. On Facebook, you really want to be adding just your friends, as the default settings will share some of your private information. It's designed to get people back in contact so it makes sense. Twitter on the other hand is designed to pass short pieces of information to many people at a time, much like a status update in Facebook. Adding people you do not know on Twitter is not a problem as your personal details will not be seen. So, the idea here is to add people who are in your target market and hope that they add you back. Search for people who are interested in what you have on your site and when they see what your Twitter account is about they will hopefully 'follow' you.
Once you have people added, you can tweet about your site all day and night :)

Just remember... Exposure = Hits
Social Bookmark Your Site
Social Bookmarking is a great way to get your site listed with other similar sites, wherein people who are interested in your collective subject can see many sites in your field. There are many social bookmarking sites and the aim is that you create an account and add sites that you come across to that account. What you are doing essentially is cataloging the sites you find.
One thing that I will say is don't solely add pages just from your site... The bookmarking website will spot this and may delete your account.
Social bookmarking is a good exercise anyway as you will end up researching your field which can only be a good thing!
A good bookmarking website is StumbleUpon and you can sign up for your free account here!
