Dark and Elegant Gothic Trees
A Gothic Christmas tree is quite the oxymoron, however Goths aren't the only ones who opt for non-traditional themes. People with Christmas trees full of hearts and pink ball ornaments and dog breeds shouldn't be laughing.

Gothic Ornaments and Dark Christmas Decor
There are plenty of tree styles and ornament alternatives to create a Gothic Christmas tree, but not much information is available for different themes to apply.I've found a few recommendations on creating a mixed Gothic tree with fairies, bats, skulls, etc., but if you want a non-Halloween styled tree as the outcome you need to pick a favorite theme.
Here's a few of the themes I have either completed through the years, or added to my own list to design for the next few spooky Christmas holidays. :-)

I just use a classic green evergreen tree because I have a lot of black and red ornaments and garland. If you opt for a black, purple, or red Christmas tree, your ornaments will look drowned out - even with several strands of lights on the tree. Regardless, here are a few options for unique tree colors:

* Dragon ornaments.
* Red or orange lights and garland to simulate fire/flames.

* Use webbing, mini spiders from Halloween to wrap the tree - is hard to get off later so don't wrap it too much.

* Use mini spider beads to string between black accent beads for garland.
* Use an hourglass to simulate a Black Widow. It's too heavy for tree topper, so I place mine in the middle tied to the trunk and push the branches aside so you can see it.
