Gothic Haunted Forest Scene Setter

You NEED something like this first! This is the main inspiration piece for the room, and I haven't found another option that you can readily purchase other than a basic silhouette mural. A spooky forest scene setter or wall mural with birch trees or tree silhouettes are a necessity, unless you can paint your own...
This will become the top half of your accent wall, which should be a dark color below to contrast the birch tree murals. You can leave the rest of the walls white, or paint them light gray to simulate shadows or mist.

Ideally, you want to attempt to drown out your bed from the scene and keep the accessories the main focus of the bedroom. A black and/or white comforter is your best bet - either plain colored or simple Gothic accents will suffice.
A few intricate patterned bedding options will work, as long as the design is natural. For instance, the velvet flocked comforter below has Earthy appeal. :-)

Use mild lighting in the room - such as rice paper lamps, led strand lights, and candles just to highlight the important areas (side table, bookshelves, desk area, etc).
Hang a large white paper lantern from the ceiling to resemble moonlit glow.

Use dark, heavy window coverings such as black velvet to surround light lace panels. You want the room to be light and airy to feel open like a forest with shadows created from the lace pattern.

1. Place dried real tree branches in tall planters, and perch a few of your feathered raven friends on them.
2. Hang flying bats in a few areas. You can also cut out bat shapes from black construction paper and hang them on the walls or ceiling. They will appear as shadowy figures.
3. Include real plants in your room. Large houseplants and vines make your forest look authentic.
