One of the easiest ways to change our mood from sad or depressed is to start thinking of things to be thankful for! Gratitude brings an emotional change almost instantly. We all have many, many things to be grateful for even if we are in the midst of trials or troubles. Focus on being thankful and watch your entire being lift to a higher plane.

How many are aware that there is actually a scientific study of the psycology of gratitude? According to an article from Oxford University Press being grateful to others has been demonstrated as a quality which enhances well-being in life! It gives the quality of life a booster shot if you will. According to one study gratitude increases happiness by 25%.
Can you think of any other factor that can increase our happiness by 25%?
An article in Psychology Today said, "call it corney, but gratitude just may be the glue that holds society together."
Gratitute can improve the quality of life in not only the area of our happiness but also our health, our prosperity and our relationships as well. A growing body of research shows that gratitude benefits are so great in fact, that it's a wonder gratitude gyms are not popping up all over!
Many of us have the mentality that "if only this happens" I can be happy or healthly or prosperous.

CREATING AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Turning the negative thoughts into positive with gratitude
How many of us know that we are a product of our very own thoughts?
Do you realize that what you are thinking about is what you are manifesting in your life?
If you are constantly thinking about the money you don't have...you can count on not having money. If you are constantly thinking about things that annoy you with your partner or friend, the things that annoy you will stay and probably continue to fester. If you are constantly thinking about being sick or exhausted you will stay sick or exhaused.
Whatever we are thinking about is what we expect to happen. Many great self-improvement books focus on this very thing. Think and Grow Rich, The Power of Positive Thinking, As A Man Thinketh... to name a few.
Some will say that they are not expecting to be poor or depressed or sick. Yet their continual focus on the lack they are experiencing is what is keeping the poverty or problems in their life.
Our world is full of abundance and wonderful blessings available to each and every one of us.
Our mind is like an auditing devise looking to find what is wrong, lacking or missing in our lives. It's job is to ensure our survival and help us avoid danger. It uses our emotions to do this like fear, suspicion, hesitation - all negative emotions - that if we allow these negative thoughts to dominate and take root in our minds, they will become our expectations - this then will determine the direction of our creative process.
What follows will be a lifetime of disappointments and unfulfilled experiences!
The good news is that we can stop the natural tendency of these negative thoughts with purposeful changes of our thoughts to things that are positive. We can replace them with thoughts of abundance and things that are absolutely possible. While this may seem difficult at times until new habits are developed, there is one very easy way to quickly transform our negativity - and that is with GRATITUDE.
Being thankful or grateful changes the vibrational energy to the positive instantly. As you increase your acknowledgement of things in your life to be grateful for you will automatically start to see and create more of the same - experiencing more happiness, abundance, prosperity, well-being, love, joy and everything else you have chosen to be grateful for.
This is not a magical process or even something weird or mystical. It has been called many things from The Law of Attraction, magnetic vibrations, universal consciousness but in reality it boils down to one thing.
You see and experience what you look for. Period.
Both the good and the bad (positive and negative) are all around us.
What we see is what we are focusing on.
If our focus and thoughts are on the 10% of a problem that we have with a person, you can count on the fact that the problem will remain at best and increase at worst. If however, you choose to focus on the 90% of good in the person the problem will diminish or often times disappear.
Gratitude and thankfulness is the missing element in many of our lives and is by default why many are not experiencing the health, happiness, prosperity, love and contentment they hope for.
