Great Real Estate Websites

Not much to do with our Barrington real estate site but more to do with other real estate agents across the United States that have great real estate websites that I find beneficial to the consumer.  (If you are interested about the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and more specifically the Barrington real estate area, just visit our site!

I generally find these through many of the real estate blogs I read and contribute to and when I see a real estate blog/website with some actual thought and knowledge in it besides the obvious self promotion, I thought it would be great to highlight them here.  We also send out a lot of referrals to other real estate agents across the country (over 100 so far this year alone) and since our clients are so important to us, we actually take the time to research the real estate agents for them instead of just sending them through a company relocation department.

My criteria for selecting and highlighting these sites is based on multiple criteria including providing an MLS Search for consumers to use, local area information, unique content that was not paid for or provided by a website company that you can find on a thousand other sites, real estate agents experience and most importantly.... they have to look good, be easy to use and be organized! (The Websites that is...)

Nobody pays to get on this list... it's just a side thing from what we spend some of our free time on when we are not selling real estate.

One of our primary hang ups with the online real estate advertising world is the number of third party websites not even owned by true Real Estate Agents that capture the consumers information and resells it to a real estate agent or even multiple real estate agents.  These services have zero value to the real estate consumer.  Perhaps because I'm a Real Estate Broker and belong to a network of some of the top real estate agents in the country, Certified Residential Specialists - CRS - I consider paying for leads through these services a shortcut to earning business.

All real estate is local.. basically.. use a local real estate agent.  Today's technology allows all real estate agents to play on a level playing field no matter what company they are with... if they know what they are doing to begin with!

Panama City Real Estate

Panama City Homes and Real Estate

I came across Jennifers Panama City Real Estate site and I was instantly reminded of all those great trips to Panama City when I was younger. Jennifers site is extremely easy to navigate, It has an MLS Search and some information about her and her assistant... I've come across some of the posts and blogs she and her assistant have done and they are very thoughtful. I've always liked Panama City Beach and think the real estate there is a good value.

Austin Texas Real Estate

Austin Homes, Real Estate and Land

Eric Bramlett for Austin Texas Real Estate I find particularly interesting. He obtained his Texas real estate license in 2003 and quickly worked his way up to open his own brokerage which we find highly respectable. He works primarily by referral only which is a concept we work heavily on. Like Eric, we would rather spend our time taking care of our clients through exceptional service. Referrals are the biggest part of any successful real estate agent business and he must have the concept down. It took us 10 years to open up own brokerage.. he's obviously doing something right!

Austin is a great city to visit. It's been a few years since I've been down there but I've been meaning to get back down there.

Austin Real Estate

Austin Real Estate Search

Jim Olenbush for Austin Real Estate Search is a Broker and a Certified Residential Specialist in Austin Texas. We actually referred some relatives to Jim long ago when they were relocating from Bethesda, MD to Austin. His communication with us was absolutely stellar and he takes the time to research homes for his clients.

Searching for a Real Estate Agent online

What to look for!

When searching for real estate in a particular area of interest, you should focus on using an individual (local) real estate agent that has taken the time to create and maintain their own website with information about the real estate area you are interested in. This generally means they are a local specialist and not just a third party website looking to collect your information to refer it to real estate agents for a fee.

A sign of a local professional real estate agent is their own personal website and not a company supplied generic website, the ability to search for properties listed on the Multiple Listing Services (MLS) like we have on our Chicago Real Estate site and of course information about the real estate agent that your information will be going to.

Look for Specific (and updated) information about the real estate area you are interested in. It's very easy to just take information from the 2000 U.S. Census Reports (outdated by the way) and create a page with some cool charts and bar graphs. Just because a real estate website has done this, does not mean they know anything about the real estate in your location of interest. For example, if you go to our site you'll find specific and updated information on the specific area in their areas of specialization much like we have done with our South Barrington real estate information page.

There are multiple real estate websites available now that are merely referral providers.. basically they collect your information without giving any specific information on where it is going or who is going to receive it.

There are plenty of great real estate agents who have taken the time to develop and maintain their own websites full of useful information about their specific area, themselves and their services. Why fill out generic forms going to a real estate agent you know nothing about?

Cedar City Real Estate

Located in Southern Utah

Sam Dodd is a REALTOR for Cedar City Real Estate in Southern Utah. There are multiple outdoor activities in Southern Utah and our best friends in Las Vegas have a cabin in Duck Creek that we go to visit along with all of the great National parks in the area.

They are not as congested as some of the more well known National Parks which is more relaxing for us. Down the road from Cedar City is the booming city of St. George and then Mesquite, NV where there are some great golf courses including Wolf Creek which is a fascinating golf course.

If you visit Las Vegas during the winter time and get tired of the casinos, a short three hour drive up I-15 will take you to some pretty decent skiing at Brian Head which is not too far from Cedar City. You can visit Sam's website .. he has far more information about Southern Utah then I could ever provide.

Washington State Real Estate

Kennewick Real Estate Search

Joe and Kolleen Lane have a great Kennewick Real Estate website that features the Washington state tri cities of Kennewick, Richland and Pasco homes information. Honestly, I've never been there but this site is so exceptionally informative that it feels like I have been there. It's a very easy real estate website to navigate which tells me that Joe and Kolleen are probably well organized. It also provides great information on moving, selling Kennewick real estate and Tri cities real estate facts.

One very interesting and informative link they have on their site is a study ranking The Washington State Tri Cities as the top metropolitan area for scientists and engineers. That's solid information about feeling good about purchasing real estate in a particular area!

This actually came to my attention after adding Joe and Kolleen Lane to my featured Real Estate websites. It seems as if they have created several Squidoo lens and have taken their option of all funds earned from visitors to their lenses and are contributing it to the "Save The Children Fund" which is earning aproximately $200.00 per month! Here is the link --> Save The Children Fund. That is simply phenomenal and they have our vote for REALTORS of the year!

Selecting Real Estate Websites

How I Select them

I love to travel and have lived in three countries and seven states. I've probably visited over 7 countries (lost track)and have been in the majority of every state in the United States. I pick websites in actual areas I have visited and know about the real estate. I've always found real estate to be fascinating and it's always something we look into in great destinations.

Before I entered real estate in 2001, (my wife 1997) we were in the Hospitality business and have met people from all over the world. Since 1997, every vacation we take we always look into the local real estate to compare. We are licensed in two states (Nevada and Illinois) so I guess you can call us the wandering Real Estate Brokers!

We personally do not know the real estate agents that own these sites, but we do know the areas they service and have found their websites to be extremely beneficial to the areas they are in.

Las Vegas Real Estate

Searching for real estate in Las Vegas, Summerlin and Henderson

With all of the news about real estate foreclosures in areas such as Las Vegas real estate, it's worth checking out investment real estate in exciting cities such as Las Vegas with huge development projects on the way such as the multiple new Multi Billion dollar hotel resorts in the building stage.

Las Vegas hotels and resorts are very labor intensive and create tens of thousands of new jobs. It's been projected that Las Vegas will be creating over 100,000 new jobs in the next 6 years!

When you factor that in, plus all of the outside money that is pumped into the Las Vegas economy with tourist dollars being spent in the newest and most exciting restaurants, shows and shopping, it's pretty much a no brainer that the Las Vegas economy is going to be pretty healthy.

Here is a Las Vegas Real Estate that keeps track and provides the latest bank owned properties available for sale on the Multiple Listing Service. When you can find Las Vegas real estate at 2003 prices, it's been the best time to buy Las Vegas real estate in the past 3 years.

The weak dollar makes it more expensive to vacation overseas, and it makes it cheaper for foreigners to visit Las Vegas!

Great Real Estate Websites Disclosure

This is not an endorsement of the actual real estate services provided by the featured real estate websites. It's simply information on individual real estate agents who have set up (in my opinion) very informative real estate websites.

Owners of these real estate websites do not pay to be featured here. If you choose to visit the featured real estate websites and use their real services, it's up to you to determine if their real estate services meet your needs. This has simply been set up to highlight real estate websites who have actual owners that practice real estate. They are not third party real estate website providers.

I do refer clients to professional real estate agents all over the United States and have been doing so for several years. As a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), I belong to a network of some of the top real estate agents in the United States and personally interview several real estate agents for our clients relocating or moving from a certain area.

In my opinion, I certainly have much more real estate experience then a call center service for third party real estate websites that simply match your real estate needs up with the highest bidder.

If this service interests you, simply visit our Chicago Real Estate site and contact us.
