World's Tallest Dive Coaster
The Griffon is the hottest new roller coaster in Busch Gardens, this extreme coaster takes riders up 205 feet then drops them 90 degrees straight down at 75 mph. And that's just the beginning. Griffon evokes the power and speed of a mythical bird that is part eagle and part lion. It plunges, twists and turns - giving riders an adrenaline-pumping adventure that's unlike any coaster experience in the world.
Griffon
The Griffon roller coaster was opened on May 25th in Busch Gardens Europe located in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Griffon is the first roller coaster to have a drop of 205 feet at a 90 degree angle straight down with floorless trains; it also is the first dive coaster to include two Immelmann loops. The Griffon has a track length of 3,108 feet which is more than half a mile. It's maximum speed is 75 mph, and the ride duration is three minutes. The height requirement for this ride is 54" and the guest capacity is approximately 1,400 guests per hour. New YouTube vids
