Grow Box - Hydroponic Systems for Indoor Gardening

A grow box is a hydroponic system designed to help you grow any plant indoors at your home or office. Grow boxes can help you grow organic plants and vegetables in no time using hydroponic systems. The technology is amazing. Using water, nutrients, and HPS or led lighting can help you grow your plants fast and efficiently. For a decent investment, you can start growing in your indoor garden and rake in all the money you spent by saving money on grocery store costs!

Hydroponics growing can actually be done in many ways. A hydroponics grow box is simply the preferred choice amongst growers because of their stealth appearance, and their ability to conceal odor and light. Other forms of hydroponic systems include grow tents, grow rooms, grow closets, and greenhouses. It is ultimately up to the end user and what is most convenient for him. Also, is is important to mention, grow boxes have a limited size. It would be much to expensive to make a 10 foot by 10 foot grow box, so the largest ones are usually about 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide.

How Hard Is It To Operate A Grow Box?

Are Grow Boxes Hard To Operate?

Grow BoxAre grow boxes are to operate? Not really. Although it may seem intimidating at first, grow boxes are actually very simple to operate. In fact, they are easier to garden with than gardening in soil. Why? Mostly because grow boxes are generally automated. The main problem people have is getting started.

To get started, with seeds, all one has to do is put rock-wool cubes, which are included with most hydroponic system, in circular slots where they fit right in. These rock-wool cubes have holes at the top. They are also very sponge-like. The end user has to put the seed in the hole and lets the nutrient filled water soak the sponge-like cubes. This is where the plant begins to grow. As it grows and develops roots, the user can remove the sponge and let the roots dangle as the nutrient rich water feeds it directly from the bottom. The rest of indoor growing is easy. Growers need to make sure the lights are almost touching the plants at all times. Every few days, the plants will be taller, so the user would have to adjust the grow lighting appropriately. Finally, the plants will be ready to harvest. At this point, most people drain the water and let the plants dry inside of the grow chamber.

And walla! Growing indoors is as simple as that.

Other Popular Hydroponic Systems

Grow Tents and Grow Rooms

Grow TentThe grow tent and grow room are similar in that they both have outer shells made of tent-like material. The difference is that grow rooms are big enough so that the gardener can walk inside. For example, the Mortgage Lifter, a popular grow room, is so large, 2 people can walk around inside of it while tending to their plants. To be exacting, the Mortgage Lifter is 8 feet wide and 7 feet tall. This type of grow room is made for commercial growers interested in growing huge yields for commercial purposes.

The grow tent is basically a smaller version of the grow room. The grow tent essentially is a small sized hydroponic system in which a gardener simply unzips or unbuttons the front panel, tends to his plants, and then zips or buttons it back up.

Bothy hydroponic systems are excellent. The question lies with the end user. If a gardener is looking for commercial yields, the grow room is the better choice. For smaller yields, the grow tent is perfect.

Hydroponic Systems and The Future

What Can Hydroponics Do For The World?

Hydroponic SystemUltimately, hydroponic systems will be the solution to many of the world problems. Already used in outer space, hydroponic systems have proven to be useful in producing edible food for those who are unable to garden normally. These grow systems can, in fact, save millions and millions of lives in isolated places where food scarce and the mortality rate is high.

The problem we face now is that most grow systems are fairly expensive to purchase. Ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, hydroponic systems will need to evolve and become more affordable for worldwide usage. Large, commercial grow systems can feed entire villages. It is up to countries like America to fund and operate the transport of such plant growing systems to places such as Africa or South America. The future is bright although solving world hunger is still a dream we can all share for now. Also, it is important to note that vegetables grow at much faster rates than traditional gardening in hydroponic systems. This being said, producers can harvest plants at a much faster rate than traditional gardening. This is a hopeful cause and the world will be surprised as hunger levels drop dramatically worldwide.
