Was it worth the effort?

My grandmother planted strawberries in her garden over 40 years ago. They didnt do as well as she had expected, and she eventually pulled them up and threw them over the fence. They landed in the ditchbank, and there they have thrived ever since. We never do anything to them, other than pick them each June. It is amazing how they continue to thrive and produce after all these years.

Strawberries - yum. Alongside Bananas they have to be my favourite fruit. Grew some indoors a couple of years back that were lush.

My experience is only with picking them from our garden when I was young. My mother grew them. This is a GREAT lens! Very informative. I put a link to your site on my strawberry lens, which is about other aspects of the strawberry e.g. nutrition, symbolism, recipes.

Great lens. I grow strawberries - about 60,000 plants as a commercial hydroponic producer in Blenheim, New Zealand. I was going to mke a lens similar to this but I think you have all the bases covered. 5*
