URGENT PRAYER REQUEST...
TLA MINISTRIES IN NORTHEAST INDIA www.tlaministries.org
This morning I must make someone else's story more important than Brave Heart Outpost. In January of 2001 I had the honor of spending the entire month roaming the country side by means of a Sumo of the extreme Northeastern region of India...the region the great missionary William Carey dedicated his heart to.Today, there is another man with this same heart and stature in the Kingdom who is a native of Northeast India named Dr. AK Lama,
http://www.tlaministries.org/index.php?page=media/video&vid=3 .
I had the privilege of being invited into the journey of his heart for his homeland and the hearts of so many of those who are part of his redemptive community and ministry. This man reminds me of Paul the way he has and continues to travel across Northeast India and joins God in the ways He is building His Kingdom there. It is absolutely remarkable. Getting to be with him and seeing AK's heart and glory was something closely related to and it mirrors what I read in the book of Acts.
Yesterday, his hub of his ministry, Guwahati, Assam, was rocked by a car bomb blast that was terror related.http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gnanZCCGoFB6Prcks7AbutGRI-iAD944OP980
AK was not physically wounded but emotionally & spiritually he was hit hard with the sights he saw and with the news that some of his commrades and sons of his ministry were killed in the blast.
I am asking all of you to join me in praying for AK and his redemptive community in this tragedy. Pray for discernment, comfort in sorrow, grace, protection and whatever else the Spirit lays on your heart for them as you intercede. Below is an email I received during the night 10/30/08 that will give you some guidance in praying for them. Thank you for taking the time to do this for their redemptive community. They are approximately 11 hours ahead of us in time zones.

Dear Prayer partners
Today is the saddest day for the state of Assam.
I was sitting in my office in Guwahati working on my computer this morning. At 11:30 a.m., a huge blast shook the whole office. The tube light in my office came off. I ran out with all my staff and saw black smoke and flame just one block away on the road. I saw one person with jean lying with his stomach open and a lady with her skull blown out. They were dead. I recognized that it was a car bomb.
The crowd yelled and shouted but no one had the courage to go near the fire. The fire spreaded from one car to another. Nearby buildings were all full of smoke. The Police came with fire brigade after an hour. It was too late. Everything nearby was destroyed. We had dead bodies splintered all over the street. No body knew how many died. Some told me that few families who were in the car waiting were wiped out. I had seen these scenes in the TV but to see with my own eyes was very painful.
After an hour, I discovered that there were 5 bomb blasts all over the city and 11 bombs including other cities in Assam. Total death tolls rose to 66 and total injured are more than 200.
Later in the evening we discovered that two of our own boys from our Christians L.M. hostel were missing. Some of the staff rushed to hospitals. After hunting through several hospitals, one of the students could be identified by the wallet in his pocket. He body was completely disfigured beyond recognition. We could not find another. There are several bodies which are beyond recognition and some were scattered into pieces. Sorry for the gory details. Their families have been informed and they are likely to come today.
Pray for the situation. Different political parties are trying to make score out of it. Some Hindu political party have declared closure of the city and asked for the President rule.
I am concerned for the TLA training program that starts from Monday (Nov 3) in RRTC, Shilling. All delegates have to travel through Guwahati. Our resource persons, Pastor Lee and Mr. Scott Johnson are arriving tomorrow to Guwahati. Please pray that I will be able to received them and take them to Shillong.
Please pray for the peace and wisdom of God to prevail.

Passionate Pursuit...
...to build a true redemptive community of rescued and restored hearts!

As Rhonda and I pursue our calling what we desire in our hearts is to begin building a redemptive community with the local and regional relationships that are presently walking this journey together. To strengthen those relationships through the life of this "shared enterprise" and then invite more into this way of life both locally and globally through a local redemptive community and global community through our ability to be physically present where and when it allows and continuous global presence through technology tools that enable us to facilitate such a community beyond our physical borders of time and space. All to be done to rescue or help men, women, and families get their hearts back and advance the Kingdom of God. Then to empower those rescued hearts to know the deep restoration of their true calling or glory.
We plan do to this with a local band of believers gathering together to share our journeys in many formats, including home gatherings & activities & local camps/conferences, regional summits, and a virtual redemptive community connected through the use of cyber space tools. We want to birth this as a small band and then learn to crawl, walk, and take off and run with it and see where the Wild Goose (Celtic Christian reference to the Holy Spirit) takes us. We are looking to begin after the 2008 holiday season with the beginning of 2009 with some gatherings in our home and start from this hub modeling it after the small band of hearts reflecting such a redemptive community of the rescued and restored as expressed in Psalm 107 and in the small band of believers in Ephesus of Acts 19. Or, if you so interested that you just can't wait, contact us @ braveheartoutpost@gmail.com and we'll reply with some info of how you can plug into some ongoing community.
Our Identity
This redemptive community is not your typical mode of church life. Thank God! The last thing beleivers need is another place to go to hear that they are blowing it and that they just need to 'try harder' or 'get their act together'. We need to find life, adventure, beauty, and the passion and courage to live from our hearts. We need to unite with a band of believers to fight with us...and for us. Brave Heart Outpost provides such a place for this type of redemptive heart community. Community Expedition Mission
The glory of God is man fully alive...St. Irenaeus
As a redemptive faith community Brave Heart Outpost seeks to awaken and recapture those deep and true God given desires in the hearts of men, women, and their families! Our community is no retreat into church as we've always known it. This your opportunity to take time out of your busy life to go on a guided expedition into the restoration and release of your heart. The path of the seeking and rescuing all that has been lost in the human heart is a different path. Therefore we have chosen images that represent that path of life for us. We believe there has to be the intentional pulling away from much of what robs us of our heart and its desires and focus on the calling of the Wild Goose that beckons us back into so much that has haunted us all of our lives. Once we do, what we experience in those wilderness places and what emerges makes us come alive and causes the world to come alive, because what the world needs is men and women who are fully alive. As a different kind of redemptive faith community we are designing an expedition of the heart that will start you on a journey of freedom and life that you desperately desire deep. A heart expedition that will lead you to the truth and will launch your heart into a journey that will never be the same.

Greg,
Awesome, I'm so encouraged by your story and I'm ever so hopeful to hear more as you walk this out. I am expecting great things from you guys. Not great as in very expansive but very shallow, but great as in deep, very deep. Thanks for emailing me to keep up to date, keep me posted as to how I can help.
God Bless,

This is so needed by so many men I see that simply exist but do not know how to really come alive and live. I thank God for sending you as my friend with a similar heart. Can't wait to see all the life that God will cause to bloom out of this. I get a picture of winter as it ends and all the new growth bursting out in the spring time, even the air smells different.

Alex...man, thank you for walking with me for the past several years in this. Thanks for all the times you declared to me that I couldn't mess this up or get it wrong and you encouraged me on the toughest of days and moments to hang on to Jesus. My transition from the institutional church to where I am now with redemptive community has been a long and hard path to pioneer, but you have been so good to me as my brother! Wow, what a ride or like Lewis & Clark would have said, "Wow, what a canoe ride!" Who would of thought that we would have grown so close after you saw that picture of where I was as a pastor and thought, "I'm going to boot camp with him!". We definitely share a strong bond as BoBs [band of brothers]!
