Ah the fine taste of a good beer. There can be nothing more delightful. I am sure that Guinness beer may be great in most recipes but I am afraid that Budweiser has stolen my heart and just will not let it go ;)
  • seosmm Nov 25, 2011 @ 11:45 am | delete

Soaking Bratwurst in Guiness is the only way I've had an official "recipe" using it. Interesting ideas on this lens.
  • genxster Nov 11, 2011 @ 4:41 pm | delete
All of these look tasty. I might have to try that Guinness ice cream.

Your intro photo, alone, was enough to make my mouth water. Guinness is my standard order whenever I head out to a bar. While some traditionalists might consider the exotic recipes above blasphemy, I would not be averse to sampling some of them...especially the meaty ones...with a big glass of Guinness on the side! :D (The other recipes have certainly got me curious, too. Thanks for this interesting lens!)
  • SquidooKimberly Mar 17, 2011 @ 11:45 pm | delete
I definitely would not have guessed there could be this many recipes for Guinness. Nicely done!

Love it. And I loved the joke about Arthur Guiness. Have been to Dublin and toured the works; never tasted a better brew anywhere. It must be how they keep and serve it. Will be lensrolling this to my homemade stew with dumplings recipe
  • ICanCook Nov 7, 2010 @ 3:48 pm | delete
I love the bitter taste of Guinness. Recently someone asked me to make a Guinness cake. Basically it's a chocolate cake made with the stout. Very delicious!
  • kajohu Oct 11, 2010 @ 3:11 pm | delete
My husband and I love Guinness! I make a stew similar to the Irish stew, and I want to add Guinness to it next time I make it. A few of the other recipes look good too. I never knew that it wasn't considered a vegetarian food -- hadn't heard of isinglass being added to it. That's good to know, since my daughter-in-law is a vegetarian (but then again, she wouldn't be eating my stew anyway!).
  • JJNW Oct 9, 2010 @ 7:51 pm | delete
    * SquidAngel Blessings * dusted over this lens for first of all... being wise enough to realize the value of a good Guinness (!), secondly, for an excellent layout and for yummy recipes (I am SO making that milkshake for my husband on his birthday!).
  • hayleylou Oct 9, 2010 @ 5:31 am | delete
Some excellent recipes here, trouble is Guiness is soo expensive here in Oz, but favouriting your lens just incase can get some. Lensrolling to my recipe lenses aswell - thumbs up :)

Oh my serious goodness but I am late breaking for lunch and I am now so incredibly hungry that the normal Chick-fil-A salad won't be good enough. Everything sounds so tasty!

I was checking backlinks on some of my own lenses and found this. I know my dear hubby would say yum to all of these recipes. He likes the occasional pint of Guinness in the evening.
  • Mickie_G Feb 7, 2010 @ 3:17 pm | delete
As a beer, Guinness is a bit strong for me. But, your recipe for the Guinness Burger has my taste buds working. I have included it a poll on my lens "Who Has The Best Burger Recipe On Squidoo?"

As a newbie I'm impressed, especiallyl like your right-floating index and the picture "this blog needs you" and the call-outs really help with the readability. You obviously know what you're doing! Thanks!

Oh dear, I never knew that Guinness wasn't suitable for vegetarians. I'm a veggie and have drunk the odd small Guinness. Thanks for the info. Otherwise some lovely recipes and a super lens.

Guinness Irish Stew, Pot Roast, Garlic Mushrooms, Brownies...incredible! I have got to try these. Not only do they sound delicious, but the recipes look relatively simple, even for someone like me who is cooking challenged!
  • ScrapHappyGirl May 17, 2009 @ 8:45 pm | delete
Those recipes do sound good. And I agree with another comment...I never knew there were so many recipes that used Guiness. I do like the borders you used. I am going to have to learn that.
  • shajo May 16, 2009 @ 9:30 pm | delete
Wow didn't know there were so many recipes for Guinness, Brownies and Ice Cream? Interesting! Very cool lens!

Great lens, 5***** You did a great job on this, I love Guinness too! You are only the 2nd person I have come across who seems to know the difference between Shepherds and Cottage Pie (ie: Lamb or Beef). I never did know growing up. Love the beer joke too - agree totally, Budweiser isn't beer... I will have to try adding Guinness to the pot roasts, should give it a nice strong flavor.

I make a wonderful Corned Beef with Guinness. My hubby also makes bread with it. A couple days ago, he made homemade tamales with the meat cooked in Guinness. As you can tell, we're big fans! Great lens
  • kiwisoutback May 3, 2009 @ 6:51 pm | delete
Guinness ice cream? That sounds good. I make Guinness Beef Stew every winter, huge hit. I've also had Guinness bread, which I believe they sell on Amazon in a dry mix. Great work!

Hm, I don't like beer in its drinkable form (yes, I know, that's strange), but these recipes sound yummy. Well ... I'm not sure about the ice cream, either, but I'll try it. Pass the spoon, please.
