Healthy Blood Pressure Reduction: It doesn't have to be a prescription drug

Healthy blood pressure reduction is when you can reduce your dangerously high blood pressure by means other than prescription medication. I would like to share with you some information you may not know about prescription medication. Information that so alarmed my sister and mother who have both used Beta-Blockers to control blood pressure for many years, that they have now started to make some serious changes in their lives. This is all information I've learned from a fabulous online resource, The Blood Pressure Remedy Report. I'm passionate about healthy blood pressure reduction because I have lost family members to Hypertension related death, my mother and sister have it, and I worry about my children when they hit middle age. I truly believe that education is the best thing and I teach my family about this stuff constantly. My hope is that you too will benefit from the information I'm sharing and achieve healthy blood pressure reduction for yourself.

Healthy Blood Pressure Reduction: High Blood Pressure

Don't just medicate without asking questions

Pills don't always give you healthy blood pressure reductionHigh blood pressure or hypertension is scary. Most people will willingly swallow whatever medication their physician presrcibes. And the implication is that once you start on medication, then you just need to keep taking it. But the problem is that we've forgotten that medicines
are supposed to help the patient get well and stop whatever is causing the problem. But these blood pressure medications don't, in fact these quick fixes may be making it worse, plus adding complications that you didn't have in the first place.

Healthy Blood Pressure Reduction: Typical Blood Pressure Medication

The most common hypertension medications are Alpha Blockers, Beta-Blockers, Angiotensin Receptor Blockers, ACE Inhibitors, Calcium Channels Blockers, diuretics, Clonidine and Minoxidil.
  • Diuretics remove water and sodium chloride (salt) from the body.
  • Beta-Blockers suppress nerve function to the heart and blood vessels to slow the heart.
  • ACE inhibitors block a hormone called angiotensin II which normally causes blood vessels to narrow. ACE Inhibitors in turn chemically relax blood vessels.
  • Angiotensin Receptor Blockers do the same thing in a different way.
  • Calcium Blockers keep calcium from entering heart cells and blood vessels, again relaxing the vessels to get the pressure reduced.
  • Alpha Blockers reduce nerve function to blood vessels.
  • Clonidine affects the whole central nervous system in the brain to chemically relax the body.
  • Minoxidil is reserved for people who don't respond to the other drugs, it has to be combined with a Beta-Blocker or Clonidine and a diuretic to prevent your body from swelling up like a balloon.

Healthy Blood Pressure Reduction: Side Effects of Medication

A Frightening Paradox

  • Clonidine causes dry mouth (dehydration), dizziness, drowsiness, constipation and sedation, as well as fatigue, weakness, palpitations and congestive heart failure.
  • Diuretics are responsible for depleting potassium levels and other trace minerals, causing leg cramps, weakness and fatigue.
  • Beta-Blockers can cause hypotension (low blood pressure), nausea, diarrhea, bronchospasm, dyspnea, Raynaud's Syndrome, heart failure, hallucinations, clinical depression, sexual dysfunction and more.
  • Ace Inhibitors can cause skin rash, loss of taste, chronic hacking and even kidney damage.
  • Calcium blockers can cause palpitations, swollen ankles, constipation, headache or dizziness.
  • Angiotensin II receptor blockers can cause dizziness.
  • Alpha blockers can increase heart rate or can cause a drop in blood pressure, especially when combined with Beta blockers.
  • The frightening paradox of prescribing these medications is that high blood pressure is triggered by amongst other things by severe dehydration. Did you read what these medications do and also their side effects? How about first getting to the bottom of what is causing you to be dehydrated? Now before you start guzzling gallons of water, there are many other factors that come into play. Other factors include being over weight, amount of alcohol consumed, stress and mineral (electrolyte) deficiencies, and medications.

The truth is you can stay healthy by listening to your body. Its gotten you this far so don't give up yet.
If you want to take chemicals to block your body signals and functions that's your business. But my solution to my family health challenge was found in The Blood Pressure Remedy Report. That's where I have found a real solution without negative side effects, that's guaranteed.
